Magical Property For Guests on Budgets

Reviewed Mar 16, 2024
All Star Movies is one of the budget hotels at WDW, but it's honestly one of my favorites. The rooms here are the same here at all budget WDW hotels, including All Star Sports, All Star Music, Pop Century and Art of Animation. The theming of this property seems to be less dated with classic Disney characters and theming compared to the other All Star properties, and it's just such a breeze getting in, grabbing food and being on the busses heading to and from the parks.

If you stay when there's a promotion, rooms start at under $100/night. Given you get magic early hours, free transportation to the parks/Disney Springs, and a room at that cost, it's a no brainer.

The rooms are clean, beds are comfy, and it's nice that they allow guests to use the fridges for their own food and items in the food hall. For example, we used Whole Foods to deliver food, it was kept by hotel staff for us, and then we were able to store it in our food and walk it over to the food court to enjoy. They have microwaves, access to free hot water, utensils, and condiments. Never did I feel weird warming up anything there, and people would do the same. It's just a great budget option and I really applaud Disney for offering something like this.

Room Tip: Aim to get a room closest to the pool/check in area, as that will be a 2-4 minute walk to all...

We had an excellent stay with 2 adults and 2 young children. Don’t expect luxury from a value resort but it was clean and functional.

Our children loved the theme. Buses were convenient (we used both Movies and Music). Plenty of parking. Two clean pools with towels. Decent hairdryer. Safe in the room. Small fridge (ours was very cold - froze the butter). Bath with shower. Tea and coffee machine. Room cleaned every other day which was perfectly fine for us as it was done thoroughly with fresh towels/linen etc.

The room might be cramped for two older children/four adults. The food court had decent enough food at the end of a long day (pizza good value), was a bit grubby but admittedly it was late and had probably served hundreds of visitors that day. Pool could do with a refresh of paint when up close but kids loved it and we found it to be clean.

No complaints from us. Would stay again

What an adorable, wonderful experience and such a convenient stay! I stayed for 4 nights on a solo trip (my first to Disney World), as I booked during a big sale and the prices were similar to offsite hotels, but with dependable transportation and a Disney touch. I was so pleased with everything!
Arrival was easy - my room was ready right on time, and since I did check in on my phone, I got a notification right away (while I was standing at the front desk). The room was sleek, modern, and comfortable with a touch of Disney decor and TONS of storage - like, crazy amounts of shelving, even in the bathroom. I had no complaints about the bed comfort level, and the bathroom vanity & shower were very nice.
I used the self service laundry right below my room (Mighty Ducks) which was convenient and easy. There is a machine with detergent powder & dryer sheets for $1 each (accepts quarters and card), and the machines were comparable to laundromats or college dorms.
My ABSOLUTE favorite part of my stay was the food!! I have celiac disease and normally have to plan ahead for everywhere I eat, and can almost never have hotel breakfast aside from fruit and an egg. I was absolutely in awe of the care taken by the allergy chefs and entire team to make sure those with allergies - being told they could make me almost anything I want had me nearly in tears. Everything was delicious, and even without a full cafe, the iced lattes in the morning hit the spot too. True Disney magic for an adult!
Shuttle service was so easy - never waited longer than 20min for a shuttle and so easy to transfer to parks and other resorts for free! It was also simple to leave my bags during my last day and pick up before my flight.

Aside from the dining room having dirty tables, dirty carpet, somewhat mediocre food selection, I could go on and on but why bother. The staff did a good job, considering we chose a "value" hotel, which translates into cheap and it showed. I'd return to disney but I'd avoid the cheap hotels.

The housekeeping staff was great! The room was nice & the resort was nice as well. There’s a good amount of things to do at the resort. It’s also conveniently located close to all the parks. The furthest we had to drive was maybe a 12 minute drive. & staying here includes parking at the parks if you decide to drive yourself. Buses are available to transport you to the parks as well.

We dropped off our bags at bell services before checking in, who would drop off our bags in the room once it was ready. Once we got to our room at the end of the day, our room door was slightly open with our bags inside. Luckily nothing got stolen, but leaving the door unlocked with our bags inside is completely unprofessional. When I called the guest services to inform them about what happened, they didn’t seem to care.
