The room itself was nice and clean. The location is wonderful, 3 minutes walk to the beach and Hollywood boardwalk.
Cons:
1. Spotty Wifi: I chose this location partly because others had said that the Wi-Fi was just fine. Wi-Fi did not work in my room for the first two days. I asked them about it on the first day and they said someone was going to reset the server. I asked again on the second date and finally on the third day I finally got it.
2. Breakfast: cold cereal, a bagel, stale chocolate cookie and an apple is what you can expect. The African—American lady who runs the breakfast is unfriendly & unwelcoming. No smile, no “good morning”. This person needs some hospitality training.
3. Because there was no Wi-Fi in my room, I had to work in the tiny lobby of the office. The office staff seemed overwhelmed at times and the lines got long to check in. While most of the staff was courteous and respectful, I noticed a couple trying to go toe to toe with difficult patrons. I can imagine that some of the residents can be challenging, but I think the staff can do a better job of keeping their cool.
3. No cable: while basic cable is standard in most hotel rooms, this room only has basic antenna level TV.
Overall, the stay was good. Fixing these minor issues, would improve things dramatically.
