Great hotel, affordable price, beachfront

Reviewed Jan 25, 2022
Room was updated and clean! Great friendly staff and Rafael was the best! The tiki bar there is a lot of fun. Located between downtown Ft Lauderdale and the smaller town Lauderdale by the sea. My only complaint was no coffee maker or alarm clock in the room. Had to go downstairs to get coffee or the local dunkin donuts. Grocery store is also within walkng distance. There was a refrigerator.

2 words...STAY AWAY. Management is not existent in this 80s ruin. If they would walk the rooms at least once a year you would not see neglects like this. Everything from clear code violation / unsafe switches to terribly fixed painted cracked tiles. 3rd word countries have better hotels than this one.

I agree with every bad review on here. The age of the hotel is old, yes, but they have made no effort to update anything but the entry and front open areas. The rooms were small and furnished like dorm rooms. Filthy, layers of dirt so thick my son thought they put felt on the door to keep it from slamming. We had two rooms. Beds were not consistent and had to put socks behind the headboard so it didn’t slam into the wall when only turning over in bed. No lock on the door from the inside for additional safety. Dirty and small. The biggest thing a traveler should know is this hotel
Is like a bad hotel at spring break. The tiki bar is close to all rooms with balconies and attracts locals and travelers from other hotels. It can get obnoxious. 8:30 pm on Sunday night and we can hear them SCREAMING “hey we want some pu$$ayyy” as well as loud everything else that was played. Which is fine if that is what you want. But the website is definitely misleading. This is not a classy hotel. Not for families. This is a party hotel to send your college kids who really don’t care if it’s clean, elevators are working or they don’t clean your room for a few days.
Oh and they rent the “condos” in the hotel long term. Down the hall there was a woman with two dogs and cat, who left her rollator out in the hall sometimes with the dogs tied to it, that whole area smelled. Such an odd place. Don’t waste your $
And check your bills, double charges more than once from grill

I never ever write reviews, but this hotel should not be open to the public. This was the most disgusting hotel we have ever stayed at. First off, the elevators have orange peeled stickers that say “warning the elevator has not been up to code”…everyday one of the three elevators were broken (made us very nervous to even go in one). Second, rooms smell like cigarettes and everything is falling apart. We didn’t have a working shower or toilet for 3 out of 5 days of our vacation. I could go on and on with other things that happened. DO NOT STAY HERE! Stay next door..it’s cheaper and even nicer!

I called the day we were to arrive hoping to get a room with a balcony as it was my guy’s birthday. The clerk was very understanding and considerate. When we got to our room, they had upgraded us to a beautiful 2 room suite with an awesome oceanfront balcony. The hotel is in need of some upgrades, but overall we had a great experience. The Tiki Bar is very fun - super popular spot on the beach. We would definitely stay here in the future.

This is a pretty unbelievable hotel experience. I think it’s easier if I do pro/cons.
Pro: beach view is beautiful and you can walk out to the beach.

Cons: The smallest room I’ve ever ever stayed it.
The cheapest furniture I’ve ever seen in a hotel room. Looks like a college dorm room.
Everything in the room is just old and needs to be replaced. Cracked tiles, balcony door doesn’t really lock which is awesome since you share a balcony. No counters in bathroom. No Hooks for towels. No phone in the room!
Random power tree stretched across table since there is only two power outlets in the room really.
Entry to the room is disgusting, random door to a room full of lost luggage next to ours wide open.
Elevator disgusting with dried (hopefully) puke.

This is legitimately the worst value for a hotel I’ve ever paid for. I might sleep on the beach tonight.

Room tip: Do not stay at this hotel.
