Worst hotel I've ever stayed in for any amount of money. We have had better $40.00 MicroTel rooms. No pool, no parking, no chair or anything to sit on in our room except the bed. A short walk to the beach is all this place has going for it. I'm not sure if the construction next door is going to be a hotel or condo but it will be very nice and hopefully put the Drift out of business.
Everything you read, no parking, mildew smell, room not as described, out dated, horrible mattress, pillows (if that’s what you want to call them)… ALL TRUE. The only thing I can say is the front desk girl was very very nice. Yes the office is closed during weekend but this isn’t a full service hotel so really nothing is needed in the office unless you have a real issue… if you don’t care about sleeping comfortably, and just need a place to crash.. then this is your place… that’s if you have a parking space and don’t have extra money to spend on the $40 a day parking lot across the street.
Also the construction next door is loud and well, there are some shady characters in and out of this place… but… that’s already in the other reviews. The plus is, it’s very close to the beach for the price. For me, I would rather pay more for a more comfortable mattress. I won’t stay here again and don’t recommend it.
I made a reservation here at the end of April, and had to pay a $147 deposit. Our trip is in July. Our flight has changed and I needed to alter our reservation dates, but apparently this hotel has no staff. I have been trying to reach them for 3 weeks, and have left MULTIPLE voicemails and emails, and yesterday their voice mailbox was full so I had my callback request sent via SMS. Still no call back and no email. How do they have such a good rating on here?! At this point I want my money back so I can stay elsewhere. This is RIDICULOUS. I bet they don't check their reviews either!!
Very nice stay at the Drift Hotel located a block from the beach. Epsler who checked me in and out was exceptionally helpful. All of the front desk and house-keeping staff were pleasant and helpful. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. Air-conditioning and TV worked well. Small refrigerator was a plus. Walls were on the thin side, noise a potential problem. No mirror in the bathroom but full length mirror in the room. Beach chairs, towels and boogie boards available free for use at the beach. Front desk closed from late at night to early in the morning. Good coffee in the lobby. I would not characterize the Drift as a luxury hotel but a good mid-range option in an expensive location.
This might've been the absolute worst hotel I've ever stayed in. From dirty rooms to stained towels, from bathroom sewer smells to mold, from uncooperative staff to unruly college age kids - this hotel has it all! Oh, and they ran out of towels and don't provide tissues - was told to use toilet paper. Once the front desk closes at dusk, you're on your own. The after hours number is useless.
From 1 am to 5 am the filthy "courtyard" was filled with drunken teens and twenty somethings screaming and carrying on. They hotel staff admitted there was nothing they could do because "the kids won't listen but . . . we shouldn't complain because it's been worse."
When complained was told nothing could be done because the owners live outside of the country and don't care. Oh, and front "desk" person was too busy playing with her dog and computer to pay attention to the guests. Couldn't be bothered.
I have never written a review like this but then again, I never stayed in a hotel like this.
