Nice hotel with a great sunny AND HOT pool area. Wi-fi is ok but the breakfast buffet could be better (bagels and cream cheese could be added for example). Friendly staff and free parking. Try to get a room facing the pool area.

We will go elsewhere next time. We have visited the Ivy Palm several times each summer for many years and sincerely enjoyed our stays mainly because of the lush grounds, great pools, spa services, gym, relaxed atmosphere, and especially the management/staff/customer service. But Palm Ivy is under new management and remodel. No spa services and no longer dog friendly. Over the last two years a couple of serious issues (power outages-no air or pool, shooting on property, homeless activity, etc.) and while some of it is out of their control, no acknowledgement of how this impacts guests' stay (and safety); when brought to their attention, they said the remodel will include a taller surrounding fence but no offer of remediation or compensation. The hotel is clearly in transition and we may return in the future once remodeling is done and they've had a chance to work things out. They need to make sure that the guest experience is safe, comfortable, and carefree. It would also be nice if they returned to pet friendly and kept the remaining original staff who knew hospitality. They raised prices prior to remodel too. They have posh goals, but are not there yet. We wish them luck.

In the middle of summer and with extreme temperature it was heartfelt to realize this hotels pool services were not in working order. To add to that their ice machines were not working as well. Need I say anything more.

Cheap and friendly front desk. However large gaps at bottom of room door and around the door of the room allowed two GIANT cockroaches walk in our room.... disgusting. thank goodness my daughter saw them walk under the door and smashed them right away or who knows what would have crawled on us that night. i was wondering how many already made it in the room and were hiding. we plugged the gaps in the door with paper towels and it was late so we went to sleep and left in the morning ... Will not be going back. Oh and there were people partying in the pool very loud music til 2am.

I have to say that the family and I had a great time staying here. The king size bed was so comfy and the room in general was great. The staff was very friendly and the continental breakfast was very yummy and filling.

I was booked to shoot something out in Palms desert the weekend of 4/19. I was traveling alone and have never been to this area so before booking a hotel room, I called a few to hotels to see if I would be able to do an early check in since I arrived in the morning. I called (as records show) Ivy SPA and spoke to an older woman (Lois I believe). I asked if I would be able to check in sometime in the morning and gave her my time of arrival before booking the room. She said absolutely, I can check in any time in the morning on 4/21 but she recommended booking right away since there were only few rooms left. I booked the room and headed out (I am from Boston). That morning, I called 15 mins before I arriving to make sure the room was okay. A man answered and said I wouldn't be able to check in until 3pm ( I had to do a video shoot at 1), even after I explained that another employee confirmed I would be able to check in; hence me booking a room with that specific hotel. To make a long story short, I ended up turning around, missing out on a gig and also wasting money on a hotel room I never used because I was given false information. I called later that day for a third time requesting a refund and spoke to the older woman who was extremely rude and ended up having up on me. I called my bank to dispute the charge and three months later I see the Hotel has taken the refund back. I call again on 7/10, and speak to "John the Front Desk Manager", explained the situation and was told that I'm pretty much lying. He was rude from the very beginning and told me "He knows his staff and they wouldn't say that" " and he can't do anything based on something someone else said". He then told me to "go find the older woman I claim said that, and talk her about the refund". Aside from their employees not knowing their own policy, they are scammers and have terrible customer serve and ratings. I do not believe I should have had to pay for a room I never used especially when they approved an early check in, which is the only reason why I booked. I could've simply gone to another hotel in the area. The only reason the room as canceled was because the woman on the phone (during the third call) told me to cancel it so someone else could use it since they were busy for coachella weekend.
