This is a good place to stay on a budget and just needing a place to spend the night. I checked in on a Saturday night and left early in the morning. The staff was friendly and check in was a breeze.
The room is small, but clean. It is a little dated with the furniture, but I didn't mind. The sheets and towels were clean.
Breakfast is provided, but simple (oatmeal, cereal, bagels, orange juice, coffee and tea). There aren't a lot of options, but it's better than nothing.
I didn't visit or use the pool, so I don't have any comments about it.

The reviews for this hotel are fairly mixed so I was a bit unsure of what we would find once we arrived. Let me tell you something, there is NOTHING wrong with this hotel. If you are looking for a 5-star resort, then BOOK at a 5-star resort and PAY 5-star resort prices. The pickiness of some of these reviews is unbelievable. The front desk was helpful and courteous, issuing pool towels upon check-in; the room was clean and comfortable -- equipped with a coffee machine and a fridge. The bed was very comfortable with lots of fluffy pillows (I also brought my own), and the air conditioning worked perfectly.

We didn't get to try the breakfast because we slept in, but the swimming pools were really nice and sparkling, opened early and closed late. I don't understand where the bad reviews are coming from, but seriously, folks -- this hotel is standard and up-to-par for the price you pay. I think there are just a few extremely picky people out there, that's all. If you're not some bougie person, then you will be completely satisfied with this hotel. We would definitely stay here again. It was lovely.

Just stayed at The Ivy Palm for the last weekend of Modernism Week, was tenuous about staying at the IPS&R based on some of the reviews on this site but made a reservation. It was exactly what I expected and was perfect for my needs, I just wanted a welcoming place where I could sleep comfortably and not be charged an arm and a leg. My husband and I got a decent sized room, generically furnished, clean and comfortable. They were some quirks (a burned out light bulb in the bedside lamp) but these were easily fixed and not earth shattering. The complimentary breakfast is not Zagat Guide worthy cuisine but it is a good place to grab either an OJ or coffee before heading out for the day. Prior to booking here, I checked numerous other places and they were all twice as much money (our total cost for a two night stay was less than $230.00) and had additional fees (resort fee, parking fee, wireless) that would have resulted in a cost a total cost well above $500.00. Prices are always higher around Modernism Week but I did some research and picked a place that delivered exactly what I expected for what I was willing to pay.

There were roaches , dirty rug , clogged toilets , dirty sheets . When asked for room service they said they already cleaned it ! Pool was dirty not cleaned at all . One of the employees asked us to get out the pool to clean it and never cleaned it when we got out ! Overall place is just so dirty . It’s extremely high priced ! They had us switch rooms twice because the AC wasn’t working and the tub and toilet were clogged !

This visit, we stayed at the Ivy Palm Hotel and were really happy with our choice. The entire staff was so helpful and accommodating. The rooms were quiet, clean, and comfortable. Two pools give choice for swimming/lounging. Grounds nicely landscaped and maintained. Plenty of little areas to sit and relax (cabanas, tables with umbrellas, chaise lounges, rocking chairs in a patio, etc.). We could be as social or reclusive as we wanted. We had six teenagers with us and they were happy with the Wi-Fi and T.V. channel selection (old movies, cartoon channels, etc.). They walked to a very nice, casual restaurant (Billy Reed's) for desserts in the evening. Great location--not too far from the Arial Tram (which is where we spent one day). The main strip is within a walking distance (1/2 mile or so?); however, a small shuttle bus regularly stops out front of the hotel and takes people into the main strip for dining/shopping--This was a great addition to Palm Springs especially with teenagers. We didn't have to constantly hop into the car to go. Continental breakfast typical (cereal, fruit, coffee, tea, juice, etc.) just not our style--we tried the different local restaurants instead. This hotel certainly met our needs nicely and comfortably. Next time, I do plan to schedule the spa services which seem reasonably priced and extensive. #1 thing to recommend this hotel--is the staff--so incredibly efficient, helpful, informative, and kind. We enjoyed our stay.

I just stayed there and our room was clean except the bathroom shower it had a lot of hair on the walls and it was not mine. The bed was a box spring with a pad on top of it. The breakfast was really bad, my mom and I just got coffee and bananas. The room was very outdated, and smelt musty. One of the days we came back to our room really late and when we got there the maid left the shower on all day, it was like a sauna in our room which made it smell worst. So needless to say I will not be going back there at all. But on a good note the people that worked the front desk were very nice and polite.

Jacqueline C. Thank you for taking the time to share feedback from your recent stay at the Ivy Palm Resort & Spa. We appreciate your kind words about the exceptional service you received from the front desk staff and I will be sure to pass on your positive feedback to them. However, I am sorry for the issues you experienced with housekeeping and our continental breakfast wasn't up to par. Our goal is to provide excellent guest service to all our guests and I am saddened we fell short of your expectations. I have already addressed the shower issue with the housekeeping staff and hopefully we can do much better in the future. Please keep in mind we have so many exciting new things happening at the hotel which include new mattresses, furniture & televisions, remodeling lobby, restructuring the breakfast menu/location & our poolside will get all new custom made cushions to lay out and soak up that sizzling sunshine that Palm Springs is best known for! Please know its guests like yourself who share honest reviews of their experience staying at our hotel that help us know the exact areas we need to work on the most. I hope you will give the Ivy Palm Resort & Spa a second chance in the future as I welcome the opportunity to do what I can to make it up to you. Take Care. Warm Regards, Maria Angelo, General Manager

I was staying here as a group visiting the near by music festival Coachella, the 'hotel' was in a great location for getting the shuttle bus and also for local amenities such as 7-11 and also the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway. However our experiences were not great at all. Our first morning we were woken by maintenance men banging outside the room at 8am! The people working at the front desk looked so bored they'd rather be anywhere in the world. But our worst experience was check out, I believe his name was Real was one of the rudest men I have had the pleasure encountering, check out took 25 minutes for him to get annoyed that we would be splitting the bill and be paying partly in cash. He was also training a younger boy who frankly I feel awfully sorry for, all he will learn is how not to treat a guest. The only good thing I have to say about my whole stay is how great Daniel (I think his name is) in housekeeping was, always had a smile on his face and even carried our bags down the stairs at check out and wished us a safe journey home! Now that went above and beyond the job of a housekeeping and he should be sat at the front desk.

I bought the groupon deal and hoped for the best. I was greeted by a very nice man at the registration desk who pleasantly checked us in early.

Room was supposed to come with free WIFI, but it constantly went down. WIFI is crap.

When I got to the room, it looked decent, but the bathroom was not very clean. There was a wad of hair on the floor and baseboards looked like they haven't been cleaned in years. I don't exactly have high standards for cleanliness, but this was gross for even me.

The beds are so uncomfortable. It feels like a thin pillowtop on a concrete bed. It's so hard. Who wants to sleep on a thin pillow over concrete?

In the bathroom, water dripped from the ceiling light from the floor above. This freaked us out as we thought the whole ceiling could collapse if a tub above was overflowing. When we called to report this, the front desk offered to change our room. However, didn't care if the water was overflowing because there was no maintenance person available. So in our California drought, didn't care if water was continuously running or if it damaged their hotel, because they just didn't care.

I wouldn't stay here again. Groupon is exactly what you pay for, a cheap deal for a place you would never stay at normally.

Clean comfortable accommodations, but the furniture is trashed, walls have holes from prior decorating arrangement, and just overall old and worn out. Great place to stay if you were blind. Supposed to be undergoing remodel soon. Won't be back.

Thank you, for your question Cow Boy does have a full bar and is open from 11am - 9:30pm you may order and take out, however, their bar does not serve the pool area you are welcome to bring a cooler as long as there is no glass.
