Lovely stay and great for down town

Reviewed Dec 30, 2023via mobile
Lovely stay, loved the room and hotel. Hot tub was a fabulous bonus. Easy to walk to down town PS and an easy drive to the mountain tramway.

Only a couple of downs - walls are really thin so you can hear toilets flushing etc. Not enough outdoor seating on the balcony - family room for 4 and 2 seats.

This very pretty motel has a lot going for it ON THE OUTSIDE of the rooms. After my initial, comfortable stay in a basic King room during 2022, I never expected my second and third stays would be so poor.

Four nights each within five months, in TWO DIFFERENT ROOM #s of the same type: king bed, bathroom and small kitchen area...
During my last two stays (see below), FRONT DESK STAFF were alerted to the problems on a daily basis. On the third day of my most recent stay, I was offered to move to a different room, but after unpacking and having a full schedule each day of my 5 days there, it was extremely inconvenient for me...especially to pack in the morning and then get into a new room in the evening. AND, there was no guarantee that it would be a better room!
I asked, "WHY don't housekeepers (who clean the rooms!) report the disrepair, broken items, bad smells or water gushing out from inside the wall...things they discover when they clean?!"
No good answer was ever provided.

At the end of my stay in June, I was told to write the owner and explain. I was credited a small refund of my last night there.
Last week, the front desk deducted a small portion of my last night's room rate.

Details:
JUNE, 2023: kitchen sink garbage disposer had rotting/food inside of it, which left a foul smell in kitchen. Toilet backed up twice; maintenance removed it and replaced it, but left a huge mess on bathroom sink area and the floor. A/C unit had so much filth inside of it; when turned 'on', it blew debris into room. Carpet is old and dirty. Room smells of mildew/mold and there are no windows, except for front door.
NOVEMBER, 2023: Clean kitchen. Faucet on bathroom sink loose and wiggles around on sink top; spout opening for water badly calcified and screw-on mesh screen was removed to view the overly calcified spout. When bathtub faucet turned on, the force of water pushes it away from wall and water sprays out from inside the wall, becoming even worse when shower knob is pulled to open shower head spray. Room has very dirty carpet and, again, the smell of the room is horribly mildewed/mold.

I'll never return to 7 Springs Inn & Suites.

Stayed at the end of August 23, the hotel, although old, is poorly cared for and maintained (carpet, sheets, furniture, common areas, pools etc.). The room assigned to us was dirty and had dust on the furniture. Cleaning also is carried out on request (including towels) and at a surcharge on the already not cheap room price. Staff is ok.
Absolutely not worth the money spent.
The only advantage is the proximity to downtown.

My bf and I first liked the hotel until I had to shower . The shower door kept coming off . Afterwards, my bf and I left to Joshua tree and didn’t arrive til 2 am. The receptionist leaves at midnight and our keys were not working . We had to stay at a motel 6 because our keys would not open the door. Keep in mind our stuff was in the room . I called receptionist and left a voicemail. The morning came and the receptionist didn’t return my c all and her excuse as to why our keys stopped working was because it dis’s programmed when it comes near a cell phone . Something they never informed us about

Sadly, this hotel was a huge let-down. In fact, it was let-down after let-down. We have taken many girls' trips to Palm Springs where we hike and hang at this hotel and have a wonderful time. This is the last time we will stay at this place.

The minute we walked in to our specifically booked oversized suite, we stepped into the huge puddle that leaked from the toilet in the bathroom and soaked the carpet in the bedroom leaving a horrible smell. The two front-desk gentlemen looked at us as if this was the first issue they have ever had with a problem in a hotel room. They literally seemed baffled as to how to help us.

They did try to find us an alternative comparable room but one was not available. We took an ADA-accessible room and I can assure you, no one who needs an ADA accessible room would be safe in it. First of all, the room smelled musty and horrible. Stepping into the shower, there was ZERO hot water and the hand-held shower head fell down on me time and again. This was so dangerous!! I am able bodied and this was unsafe. I reported both issues to the front desk gentlemen who assured me that there was hot water (Uhh hello? there wasn't) and they simply couldn't understand how the shower head could possibly have fallen on me. It did and then fell on my friend as well.

AC was horrible. I asked the gentlemen again for help. They said it worked fine. When we came back to the room, it was set at 58 degrees! The room felt fine temperature wise but was more like 70 than 58. We would have been miserable at 58.

Oh and then that bed. The mattress was laughable. It totally sunk in and we had two pretty lousy nights' sleep.

When we returned from hiking the next day and found a messy room, I asked why housekeeping hadn't been in. The by-now very irritated gentlemen told us housekeeping was by request only. Seriously? At these prices, we would have expected clean fresh towels at the very least. Prices have doubled at this place.

We asked to speak to the manager and were told we could not have access to his phone number. We didn't ask for his number, just to speak to him. We asked to have him call us and were told that "Manny" only checked in on Wednesdays. This was Friday so we were way out of luck.

When we asked for some sort of compensation, we were told we would get the rate of the different room which was smaller and therefore less expensive. We would have been happy to pay for the larger room so we could entertain our friends but at least offer us something to make up for all the problems AND for having to move everything ourselves from the original smelly room to the second one.

When we sighed and said we wouldn't stay there again next time, the guys responded that it was fine with them. Customer service, anyone?

Their one saving grace was the lovely outside and the fun pool and jacuzzi. Housekeeping did a lovely job of keeping it pristine.

Our hard-earned dollars go to a much nicer, better run place next time. So disappointing to say the least. OOOH it was musty!!

Room tip: Don't stay here. Oops also forgot that our coffee pot didn't work and they had no interest in getting us one that did!
