We stayed here after the Spartan Race and had a wonderful time at Carlsbad. Malou from the front desk was very friendly and sweet. The hotel interior is updated and it smells wonderful inside! Rooms are very clean and spacious, it is great for family travelers. A lot of simple thoughtful touches like a bathroom stool for kids, extra towels, two luggage racks in the room, microwave to heat leftovers, etc. The evening cookies and milk was a bonus too. Breakfast was fantastic! It is close proximity to beach, downtown Carlsbad, the flower fields and Legoland. I would recommend this hotel and will definitely be back next time I visit Carlsbad!

Everything on our one night stay was excellent. We dropped in without a reservation at 7:30, Malou at the desk was super friendly and helpful with restaurant suggestions, front desk folks this morning greetings, room was really nicely appointed, spacious with comfortable beds, fixtures in bathroom excellent, woukd definitly stay again!

We have stayed at the West Inn many times while visiting our son and granddaughter and felt it was time to share a review. My husband and I recently stayed for a week in a Premier King Suite. This very large suite with bedroom and living room area was perfect for a week's stay and entertaining my granddaughter. Comfortable bed, plenty of storage space, large bathroom and area for microwaving, bar sink and mini fridge. Delicious hot and cold complementary breakfast and milk and cookies at night. Plenty of free parking, very nice pool area for sunbathing or swimming and a location that is convenient to the beach and to hop on Rte. 5. Hotel also has a laundry room with coin operated washer and dryer which is great for packing light.
But the greatest thing about West Inn is the staff. Everyone from the manager and receptionist to the breakfast staff to housekeeping are wonderful, friendly and they accommodate your every need. The hotel is so well maintained and cared for. Always a pleasure to stay there and we will be back soon!
