The best thing about this hotel is its location, right across the road from the beach. The beach is, however, difficult to access unless you're athletically agile. Since my husband and I are not, we ended up walking (or there is a hotel shuttle) about 7-10 minutes down a gentle slope to where the beach can be easily accessed.
The hotel is undergoing renovation so parts of it are quite rundown. However, we were given a newly renovated room, which was quite nice. The king room was very spacious and tastefully decorated, and the bathroom was nicely equipped. You can request housekeeping daily or as needed to try to save some planet resources. Our room faced the courtyard pool (with a partial ocean view) so we didn't hear any noise from the road or even the airport nearby.
My only gripe was that the evening dinner/bar ended early so we couldn't stop by for a drink after getting back to the hotel. We did eat breakfast at the hotel every morning because it was convenient and quite good. We had the buffet a few times which was adequate, and ended up ordering off the menu a few times (the omelet is quite tasty).
The hotel was resort-level pricey for which I did expect longer bar hours and a bigger pool (it looks bigger in pictures, but I thought it was quite small), but the friendly service and the excellent location made up for it. Overall, I would stay again at this hotel when staying in the area. You cannot beat the sunset view from the beach across the road from the hotel or hotel grounds.
