I wanted to like this place, but unfortunately it was not worth the money. There was a cockroach and flies on the buffet counters at the only food hall on site. It left us questioning how cleanly the back kitchen was. We decided not to eat there the remainder of the trip so our options were limited. The food was SO disappointing, I can't stress this enough. Constantly worried about foodbourne illnesses. We only liked the Burger Bar on the beach, it had some edible food there. The drinks everywhere were watered down and not up to standards. I was there for 4 days and I couldn't find a drink I actually enjoyed, so I just stuck with mimosas and wine. The beach was weedy and there were an insane amount of hagglers on the beach which ruined the ambiance of our beach stroll. Beach was nothing special, certainly not the best beach we've been to, which was a bummer. The room was okay, other than the fact that the mini fridge was broken, so all the drinks were hot. There was a huge ball of long hair in our shower on the wall, so I had to take a tissue and get it off to throw into the garbage. Kind of gross. The halls echo like you're in a cave. Luckily I can sleep easily, but for those people who have trouble sleeping, do not stay on the first floor! There are so many people walking through the halls, drunk and with kids. This was hands down the loudest hotel room we've ever stayed at. Lastly, I LOVE coffee, but the cafe was so disappointing. The lates, the frappes, the coffee in general was terrible. I can't stress it enough how bad it was. I saw multiple people in front of me get their orders, take a sip and throw it into the garbage right away. I stuck with just plain espresso because I knew it was hard to mess that up. Overall, second and last time I will be going to Punta Cana on these all inclusive resorts. There are SO many other amazing places in the world that is worth this kind of money and better. I left feeling very disappointed because when I am on vacation, all I want is a beautiful beach, clean room, great food/alcoholic drinks, and great coffee. This place had none of that.

In general, the resort met my family expectations. We had a great time there. I was there on June. Not busy at all. We did not have to fight for seats by the pool and beach. Previous reviews mentioned about food were bad. To be fair, the food was not completely bad.
Good:
1. The Explorer Club (Kids' club) is extraordinary. Genesis, Nicol, Liz and team provided exceptional service for my daughter and other kids. The club provides interesting activities such as outdoor movie with tank. It is the highlight of the trip.
2. The resort, room, beach, and the infinite pool were clean. wifey and I did not have issue at all.
3. Portofino is the best (relatively) restaurant there. We went there 3 times. The lamb and Rice paella were good. Pasta dishes had room to improve as they are not good nor bad.
4. Mango. Yes, the best food there was mango as super sweet. We've gone crazy.
5. Staffs are trained well there. Service was good. I had no problem except 1 in Fusion restaurant.
6. No pushy on sales, tips and time share. No, not at all. I was surprised on that.
7. Water Slides were fun for wifey and I.
8. Oceana restaurant cooked the better steak. It is a seafood restaurant.

Things can be improved as I am being picky:
1. Teppanyaki at Fusion - I had the worst dinner there. Server needs to pay more attention. The cook provided a good show. but he overcooked the meat. You can forget this restaurant and go to Portofino.
2. Food were hit or miss. wifey got blue steak. I got well done. fish dishes were cooked to medium. To re-train chefs would be beneficial.
3. Towel Station - For guests' convenience, hotel should set up a self serve towel station near the water slides. The only towel station locates near the beach which is the opposite side. We had to walk all the way for it.
4. Morning Egg Station - Again, please re-train chef to cook egg faster. Or open a second line. Chef was too slow.
5. Smoking - ppl allow to smoke anywhere outdoor. Not good for kids. I smelled someone smoke when I was at the beach and pool side. A destinated smoking area would be good for kids and non-smokers.
