The resort is well maintained, with good amenities and enough to do between Splash and Punta Cana resorts.
Food at all restaurants was average, with Zen being the best and Jade being the worst, Under the Sea was average at best. The Italian restaurant was ok, you can’t mess pasta and cheese too much.
The buffet was actually good at both resorts and offered a good variety between each meal time.
Pool service was good, beach service was also decent with enough staff moving around to grab someone’s attention.
Johnny was our butler and was very helpful and provided great service. He helped us arrange an electric wheelchair for an elderly parent which was a game changer in getting around the resort. We truly valued his excellent service! He helped make all the reservations for us and went out of his way to accommodate times we wanted.
The check in and check out procedures are the worst I have ever experienced. It was at least three hours to check in for the diamond club with two people helping dozens and dozens who arrived in a tiny room with a broken AC and leaving ceiling. The process of assigning rooms, creating bands that were programmed incorrectly at least four times and scanning passports with a scanner that operates at the slowest speeds possible was mind numbing. The check out procedure was no better with the staff checking us out of an incorrect room. It’s sad the entire relatively positive experience was marred by insanely mismanaged check in and check procedures.
TIP: book a flight that arrives early morning or later in the evening. Mid afternoon has throngs of people arriving with two people at the computers.
