I observed or experienced many of the comments in the 1 and 2 star ratings except for the COVID scam.
I like to start with Pros:
The property is modern and spacious. You have access to both properties which I did not expect. Plenty of pools. The Splash property has a huge buffet. The food is pretty good until you get bored on day 5. The room was clean and refreshed daily with soda and water in the mini fridge. The tram was convenient. Ranged from 10-20min wait. I loved the diversity of guests from around the world. I should also add that we are RCI members and usually stay at RCI properties so this non RCI property was new to us.
Now on to the negative:
I never felt like such an inconvenience to 90% of the employees at this property. I realized early on that I was not at an RCI property. First incident in the first 24 hours. When we pre-registered online I asked for joining rooms. He gave us rooms on 2 different floors of the same building and expected me to be ok with my kids being in a separate room. After begging for attached rooms he gave us rooms next to each other. Second incident in the first 24 hours. When I approached the excursion desk in the lobby, she ignored me and continued her conversation with her co-worker for 10 minutes. I was honestly confused. I didn't interrupt. She honestly gave me the look of "what the hell do you want". Third incident in the first 24 hours. Burger spot. The cook looked over his shoulder, looked me up and down, turned around and kept cutting tomato's. That's when I realized these people don't care and you have to demand service.
They don't follow the activity schedule. I told my son we were going to a mini pirate party and walked into a karaoke party. They don't even attempt to follow the schedule they have posted. The employees can't even explain what restaurants can be accessed by Splash and PC guests. Some restaurants are reservations and some are walk up. When you ask someone at the front desk, they give you wrong information. The whole place is disorganized.
I honestly couldn't wait to leave. Your also not safe if you are diamond club. I heard some of the butlers were horrible. Tipping doesn't help either. The staff honestly doesn't care. I saw zero motivation for anyone to make your vacation enjoyable and they didn't care. Maybe this is the new post covid reality.
