I have stayed at other Room Mate hotels, and this did not disappoint. It was a smaller hotel, tucked into a quiet street, just steps from the Theatre Real and Royal Palace. There is a great supermarket two doors down.
Rooms were modern and clean, with incredible air conditioning, which was needed in the 100 degree heat. The front desk staff were friendly and very helpful. For the money, this place is a true find!

We had a great experience staying in this hotel! The room had exactly what we needed. And a small balcony overlooking Teatro Real. Variety in bathroom amenities. Daily room cleaning. Rich and quality breakfast! Excellent location close to Royal Palace and Opera metro station. The staff is very kind and helpful. More than a two-star hotel. Highly recommend. I would stay there again. Thank you very much!!!

Absolutely loved staying at Room Mate Mario. The staff are very welcoming and nice. The room was spacious and clean and the bed was very comfortable. There's also a small balcony overlooking the street which was very charming.

We chose this hotel because it was near the square where we met our tour guide for the El Prado Museum and the Madrid Royal Palace. The hotel was perfectly located near restaurants and shops. The room was very comfortable and Elvera at the front desk was SO HELPFUL and sweet. She helped with directions and recommendations.
There was a taxi stand around the corner but she called for a taxi for us when we checked out and needed to get to the airport. Breakfast was not included but was discounted for more that one night stays. Highly recommend this hotel.

Hotel Room Mate Mario is located in a nice downtown street near Opera. It vibrates with well maintained Spanish architectural charm and vibrant. The entrance is modern and welcoming and the reception staff attentive and friendly. The room was small, but the bed was large and comfortable and the bathroom facility functional and clean. The breakfast offered a large variety of quality and well prepared food. For a 2-star hotel my expectation is far exceed. High value for money.
