The H10 franchise has a series of hotels spread around Barcelona. For our first trip to Barcelona, we studied the various areas that we wanted to see. Our thought process was tempered by the knowledge that we had only one day to cram in as much as we could. Further, we wanted to walk to as many attractions as possible. Factoring in the variables important to us, we rolled the dice with the H10 Art Gallery. We came out winners. The Art Gallery was everything that we wanted, meeting and surpassing all of our desires. They are located on a beautiful tree lined one way street. The seven story hotel is nicely framed with other buildings that came together to provide us a sense of vibe of the city. We arrived early morning after a transatlantic flight. Although we could not check into our rooms until afternoon, the hotel staff was great. They placed all our luggage in a secure room for storage. They provided us complimentary juices and water. They also gave us a great map of Barcelona, circled some suggested sites and got us started on our own self guided tour. The area immediately around the Art Gallery has many pubs and restaurants, within a few dozen feet of the main entrance are several. Further, within a couple block radius are dozens. Of course, the hotel itself has two bars and a restaurant. None in our foursome spoke Spanish, but we had zero communication issues at the hotel or anywhere else around the city. Not that everyone was fluent in English, but many had a very workable understanding. Speaking no Spanish, amazing how clearly I understand someone else speaking even a small amount of English. The people of the city could not have been any more friendly. As stated, we easily walked to various sites including Casa Mile (La Pedrera), Palau Baro de Quadras, Basilica de la Sagrada Familia, Passeig de Gracia (with Casa Batllo, Casa Bonet, Casa Mulleras & Placa de Catalunya), La Rambla (Barcelona's Social Hub) with La Boqueria Market, Palau Guell and the Christopher Columbus Monument. We even made it down to the port and walked along the Rambla de Mar. Of course, along the hike, we periodically stopped in at a side walk cafe for a glass of wine or beer. We had an excellent day walking around the city, facilitated by the great location of the Art Gallery hotel. Once back to the hotel, we checked into our rooms. The rooms were not large but we only needed a place to sleep. The room furnishings were fresh, clean and comfortable. The bathroom too was wonderful. Being there in late June, we appreciated that the A/C worked well. Also are WiFi included. We had a very comfortable, restful nights sleep. The next morning, a free buffet breakfast was included (cereals, coffee, juices, milk, eggs, sausage, ham, yoghurt, breads, rolls and more). The breakfast was extremely excellent - more than enough to get us ready for the day. Upon checking out that morning, the hotel helped us secure a taxi. The taxi stand was just down the block maybe 30 meters. Upon arriving at the taxi stand, we immediately had a cab. We loved our stay at the H10 Art Gallery. Again they met and exceeded all of our needs. We would gladly return, perhaps for multiple nights in order to further explore Barcelona.
