Special and allergy friendly

Absolutely loved this hotel. From the minute you walk in they make you feel special. There was the initial surprise of a 100 euros a night refundable deposit payable on check in that we weren’t forewarned about as we had paid in full in advance. Made all the more awkward as both mine then my daughters HSBC credit cards were declined for no reason. Her Monzo card did work, thankfully. This caused a half hour of panicked communication with HSBC who couldn’t find a reason for them declining as their end just showed them as pending then reversed. Seemed to be a glitch but just be aware if you bank with HSBC.
Beyond this the rest of the stay was faultless. We had a deluxe with city view. It was larger than expected. The bed was huge and the pillows and bed incredibly comfortable. Everywhere was spotless. The bathroom and dressing area well designed. Large pump dispensers of high quality body wash, shampoo and conditioner were on the bath. Sachet of bath salts, loofah, wooden comb, small body lotion, slippers, dressing gown. Safe, complementary bottled water per person each day. Beds turned down each evening with a couple of chocolates left on the bed and your slippers left on a cloth next to the bed.
Electric blinds completely shut out daylight so the room could be pitch black if needed.
The pool on the roof was small but never had more than 4 or 5 in it at a time. The sunbeds are only bootable for 2 hours but this stopped people hogging them.pool towels are provided. The staff are very attentive and come around to take food and drink orders. The chef was concerned about potential cross contamination for daughter’s food allergy so they cooked hers separately in the downstairs kitchen. Brilliant service. If ever we needed a taxi the concierge would flag one down for us and escort us to it. Yes there are still roadworks directly outside the hotel and most of the length of the road that leads down to the marina. It didn’t impact our stay; taxis pull in about 10 metres down from the door. The taxi driver told us that the roadworks have been there for a couple of years and due to finish July 2025 and are due to an issue to do with the underground metro. I had read a review about house music ruining the pool area. I can say that the pool is only open to hotel residents. You can’t get anywhere in the lift without scanning your room card and the pool and bar are on the roof. The dj played chilled music that added to the ambience. It is a beautiful tasteful setting. The views and the sunset up there are a really special experience. You do feel valued, safe and a little spoiled. Breakfast is a sight to behold. There’s hot offerings of bacon, mushrooms, eggs and vegetables. Cold meats, fruits, pastries and cereal. Allergies are catered for and my daughter was taken on a walk through of what she could have on the first morning. Stunning hotel and wonderful staff.

Racist staff, kids were told not to enter the pool and a white family was allowed in. No one offered our family pool towels or drinks but they served all the white families. Then this morning the kids went down for breakfast and were denied entry despite it being paid for in advance by us.

Additionally hotel is under construction loud drilling in the morning and techno music at night. And to unload luggage far from the door overall just a bad experience. Not recommended for business travelers or families.

Room tip: Under construction

Great location! The best thing about this hotel is the staff. They are incredible! The front desk helped me retrieve a lost bag and I am eternally grateful! However, the hotel is small and when it is full, you can feel the crowd. The rooftop pool is used by guests of the hotel and non guests willing to pay an entry fee. Our son was traveling with us and I was hoping the pool would be a respite from tours and crowds. It was not! It is a crowded, hopping, scene with thumping DJ music. The hotel is clean and adequate but do not expect a serene 5 star hotel experience.

Room tip: The pool is not family friendly

The hotel itself is very nice, the room we stayed in was superior type.
It was larger than expected. The bathroom was spacious. The bed was very comfortable.
A little bit of noise came in from outside but did not bother us very much.
Location wise, close to everything. No complaints.
As many guests complain, currently due to road work, it is not easy to get any car service to/from the hotel.
The rooftop pool bar has a really nice view of the city. The staff there was nice.
Breakfast was also great.
There was a misunderstanding about the bar charges at checkout, but it was adjusted right away on the spot. Mistakes happen, so review your hotel bill before you check out!
Other than that, everything was great.
I will return to this hotel if I travel to Barcelona.
efore you check out!
Other than that, everything was great.
I will return to this hotel if I travel to Barcelona.

I’m so glad my partner and I decided to stay here for our stay in Barcelona. The property is recently renovated, and it shows!! The hotel was kind enough to accommodate us with an early check-in, thanks again. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. Let me tell you, the beds are just spectacular. One of the best hotel beds I’ve ever slept in ( if not the best!!). Don’t forget to check out the rooftop pool/bar.

Can’t wait to come back!!

Just returned from 5 nights at this hotel. Despite being on a main thoroughfare the hotel is very peaceful and quiet. Staff can’t do enough for you. Only downside at the moment is that the road outside the hotel is dug up meaning that taxis cannot pull up directly outside the door. The porters managed this well but the path is very narrow and busy. Great position for the gothic quarter and wonderful restaurants nearby which the concierge booked for us. We had a deluxe corner room. Bed was really comfortable. Room size not generous which is typical for a city centre hotel. Weather was too bad to use the roof top but it would be great on a sunny day.

Room tip: Ask the staff - they are very willing and helpful.
