My partner and I stayed in one of the “double” rooms. It was the most unpleasant and god-awful experience of our life. The room was incredibly cramped and small for two people. We kept bumping into each other and having to move around like we were in a college dorm room. One of our biggest complaints was the fact that the A/C did NOT work. We tried to make do with keeping the window open in the evening but it was too noisy since there was some sort of festival or event going on right outside our hotel for the first few nights. The last straw was on the second night when the barely working A/C was leaking onto the bathroom floor and we had to use towels to mop things up. There was extensive water damage down the bathroom door and on the ceiling that had to have happened over time. We went to the night front desk staff who basically said to turn the A/C completely off to stop the leaking and then gave us a little desk fan which was the ONLY relief we had. They tried to explain that due to the time of year they have issues switching between heating and air conditioning. Personally, I could care less. Don’t advertise A/C if you have constant issues. They said we would be able to do a room switch the next day. The following day, we were told it would have to happen the next day because there were no rooms available and they would move our luggage for us, which we declined because we wanted to move it ourselves. The front desk staff insisted they would need to move it for us while we were out and about. Again, we declined and said we would just stay in the room since it seemed like we were an inconvenience to them. They never offered a refund and their refund policy from what we read had to happen prior to checking in.
It was very hot and humid during our dreadful 5-day stay in Barcelona and the A/C leaking and not working made it an appalling hotel.
The shower situation was atrocious. This may be standard across hotels in Spain/Europe in general, but what a mess with the half glass half open wall concept. Water was spilling everywhere onto the floor so there was a constant towel absorbing the water.
Hotel maintenance did a terrible job of stocking the toilet paper or re-filling the hand soap. They only offered one toilet paper roll upon your arrival. We had to ask twice for the hand soap to be re-filled. The bed was just ok but the pillows were extremely uncomfortable. They offered one free water bottle so we bought jugs of water at the nearby supermarket rather than paying a ridiculous fee for water refills at the hotel. Wifi was decent. The breakfast was extremely mediocre and reminded me of the breakfast served by Motel 6. Absolutely do NOT recommend this hotel. Save your money and trust the low ratings!
