Amazing Customer Service!

Reviewed Jun 6, 2020
We had planned on staying here this summer, but with the epidemic we were forced to cancel. Casa Camper was amazing to deal with and so gracious and helpful during such a difficult time for everyone. When we finally get to visit Barcelona, we will be staying at Casa Camper. I can't say enough about them. If you have the chance to visit Barcelona in the future, please stay here and support this amazing place! Thanks again Casa Camper! All the best to everyone there!

I booked this hotel in November for a July 2020 stay and unfortunately had to cancel due to Covid-19. The email communication with the hotel staff was thoughtful, informative, professional and courteous from my first inquiry email to the last and there were plenty because I had lots of questions, lol.

I always do tons of research before I book anything and I was ecstatic when I came across Casa Camper for my stay before and after a Mediterranean cruise. It has all the amenities I wanted and then some plus it has large spacious, well air conditioned rooms. I was super excited to be able to book a non refundable room and save even more money after I had my airfare in place.

Fast forward a few months and the next thing I know, my cruise was canceled. I reached out to the concierge by email and asked if I could get a credit or a refund. They wrote back to say yes, they’d give me credit for my non refundable bookings and would even extend the expiration to July of 2022. I was so very grateful for their understanding. Another month passed and it seems like the situation has gotten worse with more travel advisories in place. I wrote them again asking if they’d consider giving me a cash refund because it is a difficult time and I don’t know when I’ll be able to visit Barcelona. I know they were under no obligation to and they’ve already been nice enough to give me the credit, but I could really use that money right now and thought it couldn’t hurt to ask very nicely. They replied back pretty quickly to say yes, they can refund me. They also said they’d be in touch once the money is being processed by their accountant. I thanked them profusely and waited. In a couple weeks, I received another email from them to say the money has been refunded and that I’d see it in a couple days.

I am so thankful that there are nice and decent people like the manager and staff of Casa Camper. People who understand that we are in an unprecedented global pandemic and every penny counts. I cannot wait until we can travel again safely and freely so I may visit Barcelona and stay at this amazing place. Thank you again.

Stayed for two nights in March in one of the suites. Cannot fault this hotel at all.
Check in was quick and simple and we were given a quick tour of the place whilst being checked in. Not a very big hotel but has everyhing we needed for a short break. The room itself was large with a seperate lounge area, bedroom and bathroom. Very comfortable super king size bed, maybe too comfortable. Large shower cubicle with good powerful pressure. Large screen TV in both lounge and bedroom. Hammock in lounge area was a nice touch.Electronic safe in room, slippers and robes supplied. Good breakfast options and as others mentioned free snacks ( sandwiches, wraps, crisps, drinks etc.) available all day also with drinks available to take to your room or the bar area. Nice rooftop terrace where drinks also self service with an honesty bar, great spot to enjoy winding down after a busy day exloring. Location is in one of the narrow side streets off La Rambla a few minutes walk from Placa de Catalunya.Lots of bars and restaurants nearby and easy to get around the city by bus or metro.
Staff were very friendly and helpful and gave lots of information about the local area.
Would recommend this hotel 100 % and will hopefully return.

2nd stay here. I just love everything about the hotel. Staff are all fantastic. Very clean and comfortable. Room layout is somewhat weird with a separate lounge across the hall (never used). Ut location is awesome. Breakfast is great. And the bonus is that you get free food and snacks all day long. I even came back and had lunch.

I will be back again. Have the manager's card and will be booking again.

Ditto to all the things already written about the good stuff at Casa Camper. The location, the rooms, the breakfast and all day snack bar, the mobile hotspot, the rooftop, the shower, the bed, the robes, the slippers and most of all the people, are all fantastic.

The only negatives are really quibbles. I was surprised to be able to hear sounds from adjacent rooms and the hall but these were rare and minor. Also, I will always mention when a facility provides just two towels for two people. But even there, the towels are excellent and we were given fresh ones twice a day so even that was mitigated.

Travelers tip: if money is more important than time, Casa Camper is just a 5 minute walk from Plaza Catalunya which is accessible from the airport by either the bus or the metro. From Plaza Catalunya go south one block on La Rambla and look on the right for the blinking pharmacy sign (or the Bonsucces street sign) and turn right into what looks like an alley but is really a tiny street. In one block the hotel will be on your left (Bonsucces turns into Elisabets).

Travelers tip 2: when planning your activities in Barcelona, keep in mind that many places are closed on Sunday. Not knowing this ahead of time cost us a very important part of our trip.

Bottom line: stay here unless you must have a 5 star hotel. Here you get the ‘5 circle’ experience, you just don’t have to pay so much for it.

This place is perfect in every way.
Location: on a quaint street with great character. Quiet.
Vibe: cool and functional. The rooms are very comfortable, bed is awesome, bathroom is spacious, great shower. Nice TV. Love the hooks on the wall to hang my things since I was too lazy to use hangers. Robes/slippers to use in the room. The separate lounge space across the hall is nice if one needs to do some work or desire a siesta in a hammock.
Breakfast: delicious! Fresh omelettes or pancakes made to order. Everything else self-serve. Plus, they have snacks all day which you can grab when you need a little something.
Bar: must ! Archie, the uber-cool bartender mixes wonderful concoctions with perfection. They are beautifully created and visually pretty. The pool table is a nice touch. We bought the cocktail book as a souvenir of our visits with Archie.
