The Hotel 1898 is a beautiful, high class hotel right off the Rambla in Barcelona. It is within easy walking distance of many tourist attractions. The breakfast buffet is excellent with a great selection of foods. My biggest complaint about this hotel is the overpowering perfume smell in the lobby which was likely trueing to mask the sewer smell from just outside on the street.

My fiancé and I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights early April of this year. It absolutely lived up to our expectations and more. The entire hotel was impeccably clean, from the entrance into the hotel lobby to the bedrooms and spa.
It rained one of the days of our trip, so it was great to make use of the spa facilities.
Each evening we had a drink at the bar before heading out for dinner, staff were really attentive and drinks reasonably priced.
Location was great, just a short 5 min walk to La Boqueria.
The smell every time you walked into the lobby area was a smell I wanted to bottle and take home.
This was my 4th visit to Barcelona and I only wish I had found this hotel sooner, but I can rest assured I will be staying here on future trips.

Excellent hotel H1898. Very professional and humble staff. Helped us booking restaurants and provided guidance for attractions. Nice breakfast with a variety of cheese's, ham, fruits and delicious desserts. Great location. Cozy and very comfortable beds!

Brilliant hotel for exploring Barcelona. Perfect location right on La Rambla, really close to the Gothic Quarter.
Rooms were much bigger than expected, extremely comfortable and lovely bathrooms.
Didnt use the Spa but had a look and it looked amazing.
Rooftoop was excellent, pool large for a rooftop city pool. Ate at the rooftop restaurant a few times all lovely food apart from one burger which was served raw.
Would definitely stay again.

Just off La Rambla, this hotel is in an excellent location for exploring and has many nearby restaurants for fine dining or tapas. Everywhere is pristine with sheets changed daily. Exceptional standard, with roof top terrace which is ideal for cooling off after a busy day, or sitting in the bar in the evening after dinner; with spectacular views. Our first stay in Barcelona and we couldn’t have chosen a better hotel. Cannot fault it. We are eagerly planning our next trip.
I would highly recommend staying in this fabulous hotel and I have already recommended it to a friend on my return.
