Great Location, good value

Review of Hotel Aneto
Reviewed Feb 18, 2018
Four of us stayed here, top floor end room. Big room with TV. Fairly basic, but nice and clean. Breakfast is in the 365 café next door. The 365 staff seem a bit miserable there, but nice croissants (2 each) and orange juice and a coffee) Staff at the hotel were friendly. Lift can only take three people at a time. There is vending machine on the lower hotel floor if needed, but plenty of supermarkets around. really close to lots of thins so an ideal base. Wifi in the rooms was a bit patchy due tp distance I assume.
Would consider here again if/when we return

The only reason why you should stay here is because of its location. Focus on the word only. Yes that's the ONLY reason.
There is an obvious lack of security control.
Dealt with two of the reception staff throughout my stay.
As it was before check-in time, the first guy took our bags and gave us the number tags.
When we got back at night, the first guy had already gone off from his shift and one of my backpacks was missing. When I raised the issue, we were informed that the hotel premises are being shared with other offices and private homes so there would be many outsiders coming in and out and they were not in control of that. (Even so, everyone's stuff were placed RIGHT beside the staircase at the entrance (wow))
We asked to see the CCTV, and were again told that there is only a CCTV at the reception (because, you know, nobody cares about crimes they don't have to see - or in this case, don't want to be responsible for) but it would not have shown the luggage area (wow again).
The night shift guy was helpful though, and tried to call his colleague (the one who helped us to get our bags) to find out more details. His colleague actually remembered (wow again and again) that I had a backpack, but insisted I carried it out with me (sure, just like how I'm sure my backpack must have magically dissipate into air... ... ...).
So we asked him to check the CCTV (since he said there was a CCTV at the reception, beside the entrance) and from the CCTV, he would see that i DID NOT carry out a backpack with me. But yet again, we were told that the CCTV was only realtime and NOT LIVE (so it doesn't record), and they only used it to see that guests actually went up to their rooms at that point in time. (WOW. So if, someone dropped off an unidentified package containing dangerous items, no one would ever know what happened once all our fates are sealed then - meh? Who cares right? It's just our lives and basic security at stake. And if someone intentionally distracted the reception to commit some crime, no evidence would be left at all. Nothing.)
The location is good indeed, but the security fails thoroughly and I hope all future guests know what risk they are facing by staying here.

Hotel Aneto is just a coin toss away from La Rambla and Joan Miró’s Mosaic del Pla de l’Os. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and the rooms are tidy and sufficient. Breakfast is served in the cafe next door. Most things are within walking distance from this hotel, and the area is great with lots of nice places to either eat or drink.

Great location, and includes breakfast at neighbouring cafe but bathroom very cramped and quite noisy late evening and early morning.

Front desk staff spoke fluent English and were very friendly and helpful.

Overall, good value and well worth a try.

The hotel facilities were as expected for the price, clean. The shower was great, WIFI worked very well, the staff were friendly and helpful.
The location is a plus as it is close to Las Ramblas and the La Boqueria and other places you want to explore on foot.
Our only complaint is that the cleaning staff would never make the bed...just drop off some shower jell and new plastic drinking glasses

very nice and helpful staff. but tourism kills the city and the souls of their inhabitants.
very clean. very nice to have a water kettle but we miss a fridge. and nice to get breakfast (not incl) in the café next door. so U can choose something else than sweets for breakfast :-)
