Stayed for 3 nights on the way back from previous locations down the coast to fly back to Britain. exceeded expectations. on arrival there is a check-in desk in a small lobby that seems to be manned 24/7. the receptionist/concierge was pleasant enough and spoke excellent english, we arrived mid afternoon on a saturday and there were lots of cases in the lobby, (assuming guests that had checked out but was not moving on til later), whilst checking in an english guest came down to enquire about a fridge, there seemed to be a small communal fridge under the cases in the lobby. we got our key and went in search of our room, it was at the top of the building, we took the small lift and trough a door into the hotel as some of the other doors off the stairwell seemed either commercial or residential as some signs stated "this is not a hotel". when we did find our correct hallway we were pleasantly surprised, seemed very clean, bright, modern (not contemporary). we located our room and was surprised further, a fairly large room with 3 ample single beds 2 slightly bigger than 1 which fitted our party well (2 adults, 1 child). it had everything needed ie air-con, tv, hot drink making facilities, en-suit bathroom with towels/toiletries, etc... at the end of the room was a window with a traditional sun/storm slatted shade that opened up on to a small balcony, it was only then, you get the sense of height and a great view over the street and beyond. there was/is a feel of colonial granger to the building/street/location. Location was perfect, 2 minutes off La Ramblas and loads of decent bars/restaurants etc... on leaving for the evening you have to hand your key in at the desk, make sure you remember your room number. Negatives: probably was once a large apartment building in 1800's with large rooms, but now have been partitioned up leaving some odd shaped rooms and thin walls, but it is not a 5 star suite you would lounge around in all day. definately would stay again and would recommend, I am aware there are lots of better places and probably worse, but it suited our needs perfectly.

We spent one night in this hotel and found the location very convenient - just 5 mins walk to the Ramblas. Simple breakfast provided in the adjacent bakery. Lots of restaurants in the surroundings. The single room i booked was a shoe box with a window to the inner yard - not recommended for more than one night. The guys at the reception were cool.

I just got back from 3 nights at Hotel Aneto. It is located just off La Rambla, far enough away to be quiet but close enough to the action! The hotel itself is very clean. We didn't bother paying for breakfast as there are great places nearby for breakfast including a cafe on the same road and La Boquera market. This hotel is a great base. We were really only there to get changed and sleep - it's perfect for that!

Booked in this hotel for a post cruise stay. Hotel is located just off La Rambla, next to Boquiera market. We arrived early so we couldnt check into the room until 2pm. We had booked a triple room which was large and had a balcony with a view over the city. Breakfast is in the coffee shop next door. Wifi available
Room tip: Rooms on the forth floor have great views
