The staff is very friendly. The internet is good. The location is great, you are in the center, everything is equally far from you The only problem is the lockers in the rooms that aren't very safe. There are also locker rooms, but there is an extra charge per hour/day. All in all, a good experience!
I stayed there with my son, we booked the private room for €130 Euros / night and it is clearly overpriced for what we got.
The room was very small, only space for 1 bed and a bathroom, no wardrobe or cabinets to put your cloths or your luggage, no desk no table.
I think for that budget one can find a more comfortable room in a real hotel as at the end of the day this is a youth hostel.
On the plus side the Inn is superbly located 2 mins from plaza de Catalunya and staff very friendly (and very busy!).
As a travel agent, I made a reservation for 8 people, and when we got the assignment of beds, there where 2 of them occupied by other people. They said they would solve it, but by 1am it was still not solved, so we had to find another hostel, and THEY DIDN'T EVEN REFUND US!! I has to put a formal claim, and they are still refusing to give us the money back.
Things that I liked during our stay.
- receptionists were accommodating and helpful
- linens were fresh and clean
- the area is located in the center where most of the
places to see are just walking distance.
- surrounded with shops, restaurants and bars
I was not impressed with:
- same menu for daily breakfast buffet
- the luggage storage that is located under the beds
was too noisy when you pull and push them.
- yes i know this is hostel, but it would be nice if they
provide some towels not for rent. I've been to some
hostels and they have one for us.
One thing i love about this place is the location and the price. It is cheap and situated in the heart of barcelona. Lots of food around and the hostel also has its own bar. This is not a small hostel so sometimes its quite hard to find people to hangout with. Would surely go back!
