We stayed at the Occidental Atenea Mar for 4 nights at the end of April. It was fantastic.

A 20 minute taxi to the hotel and quick smooth check in (which was about 2am) it's a 24hr reception.

We upgraded to the Junior Suite and the room was well worth the €30 a night extra. The room was HUGE! with a fantastic sea view. Room 1208!! BOOK IT!!

We only had breakfast on the last day - €18 on the day or €16 on check in. The breakfast was fantastic. Wide range of items - even champagne!

The hotel itself was right on the beach - and a 10-15 minute walk left or right to everything you need. We used the metro (Selva de Mar) into the major parts on Barcelona. 5 minutes from there was the Diagonal Mar Shopping centre. Lovely place all your shops you see at home - lots of food outlets plus a rooftop with a bit more upmarket restaurants- we ate there 2 put of the 4 nights.

On our last day we ventured down to the Olympic Port where there are some lovely restaurants.

Barcelona was amazing. We did all the stuff you'd expect..nou camp - city busy tour - Cable car - lots of shops.

I would highly recommend this hotel!!!

We had taxi transfers to and from the hotel- company called talixo - absolutely Brilliant service. Again highly recommended.

Nice hotell and staff, clean rooms and free WiFi. Short walk to the beach, buses to city centre close by. Restaurants close by, shopping centre approximately 20 minutes walk away. Adults only, so nice and quiet atmosphere

Lovely hotel. Very clean & modern, with kind and friendly staff. Beautiful clean pool area with comfy sunbeds. Only draw back was the distance from the city centre (about a 15 min/ 15 euro cab ride away) however the casino and nightclubs were about a 30 minuet walk straight down the beach along with lots of restaurants along the beach all in walking distance. Me & my partner really enjoyed our stay and would recommend for those looking to be closer to the beach rather than tourist hotspots.
