Great hotel! Fantastic location - right beside Las Ramblas, five minutes from the ocean, quick walk to the beach, tons of restaurants and shops near by. Rooms are large, comfortable and modern. Breakfast was good. I would definitely stay here again!
Good and Bad points for this hotel
On the plus it’s good value for money , the twin room 2nd floor was easily accessed with room key via lift. We felt lucky to have too down the side with small balcony above cute side street facing other apartments (also a negative see below)
Room spacious with desk chair and adequate storage. Beds were a little hard and one pillow and sheet / blanket. A spare blanket was in wardrobe but would prefer quilt. Pillow easily solved as I just asked for another on day 2 ! Reception staff helpful. Access by some taxi is not possible so you may get dropped on ramblas if vehicle is large. 2 mins walk so no issue. Location is perfect for area
Bathroom was clean but only one bin in room would be good to have one in bathroom. Glass door doesn’t give for much privacy but we muddled through !
Downsides were noise ! Terrible soundproofing so can hear above , below , both sides and corridor ! Take earplugs !
Noise from below varied from quiet to loud music from both below and opposite and rowdiness to around 4am. 4 bad nights sleep not good

However breakfast staff we found quite rude
Day 1 we went 8:30 and couldn’t find fresh milk. They could barely be bothered to tell us ! It’s no where near the cereals on table !
Day 2 we went 9:15 Had some meats and cheese and a roll (fair selection). Returned to choose couple of pastries - firstly they had nearly all gone and when I asked (because on first day we were sat in view and they were topped up and there was 6/7 choices ). Day 2 at 9:40 they said no more. I went to get a cereal and the granola and other choice had been removed so just a large bowl of cornflakes to “choose”. I darent ask again as the staff were too offhand
Day 3. Table include 3/4 full juices and one full coffee and all our plates removed when we both went for a pastrie and a coffee refill that was 10am , then at 10:15 they came back again and asked to clear as closing. We reminded them service is 8-10:30. They were rude to one couple who came in 10:10. All signage is served 8-10;30 so whilst leaving half hour to eat it would be fair some people may come later for a bit of food and a drink. You are not allowed to take anything with you

Interactions with the staff uncomfortable despite us being polite and then they followed up with glaring and appearing to talk and laugh at us
On way out I mentioned to receptionist who apologised and confirmed he would pass on and breakfast is served to 10:30 !
I’ll add to this that most stuff was nice and fresh it would be nice to melon or fruit salad - choices were some oranges and apple and on last 2 days green or red apples only A fruit at lease to go with granola or compote
Coffee is from a machine and was ok except check the cups we had one from tray with lipstick on 🤢
Finally no kettle or tea coffee in room and is not available other than breakfast is another reason we wouldn’t stay again
I stayed at this hotel for a few nights and found it to have both positive and negative aspects. On the positive side, the hotel boasts an excellent location, with many local attractions, museums, shops, and sights within easy walking distance. Additionally, the price is affordable, and complimentary breakfast is provided. The staff is nice.
However, there were several drawbacks. The room had a strong sulfur smell and was very basic. The shower showed signs of mold, and the rooms were poorly soundproofed, allowing noise from outside to disturb sleep. The pillows were very flat and the bedding consisted only of a sheet.
Overall, while the hotel's location and price may be appealing, the subpar room conditions and lack of soundproofing make it difficult to recommend.
We’ve just stayed here for the last two nights - fantastic location, lovely big rooms, good shower, friendly staff, easy check in and we were able to leave our bags as we arrived so early! The only negative for me was the noise in the breakfast room, it was far too loud for me but it didn’t bother my other half. Apart from that, I would absolutely recommend the hotel, and would stay again if we were to revisit the beautiful city of Barcelona.
We were really happy with our room at Barcelona House Hotel. We expected a budget option but were pleasantly surprised with the quality of the room. Room was large with high ceiling and a large bathroom with bath and shower, all windows had small balconies and views of the streets. Streets were quite noisy at night but the windows completely silenced this. Staff were all very friendly and welcoming, check in and out were very straightforward and fuss free. Breakfast was included with our room, there was a large selection although not many options that were suitable for us as vegans. Hotel was in an excellent location and everything was easily accessible. We would definitely stay here again if returning to Barcelona.
