Myself and my partner booked a 3 night stay at this hotel. We arrived early and knew we had to check in later which was fine so we left our bags in the luggage room. Whilst doing this we used the toliets in their snack bar to find no toliet roll so we had to use napkins off their tables.
We arrived back at check time to find a lady on the phone who asked us what type of room did we want, single beds or double so we said double. She was still on the phone chatting away whilst leaving us with no information. She gave us our key card and that was that. No information nothing and had the cheek the charge 5€ tourist tax.
The spiral dark staircase was the most medieval feature and was horrendous as our suitcase took up the whole of the elevator.
Well our room was honestly so frightening it resembled a 70s style torture room where you couldnt guess if it was day or night outside as the lightening was terrible and our window looked out to a broken old elevator shaft i couldnt bare myself to look out. Our bed was the most basic double bed ive ever seen and we only had 1 pillow which was a long thin pillow we had to share. I was so horrified i wanted to leave and get back on a plane.
We decided to head out and try make the best of our day so we headed downstairs to be told we could not leave the hotel with our key we had to place it in a bowl and the staff (2 ladies) would put it away in the cubby hole so anyone could potentially walk in and ask for any room number and they would hand it over.
After walking around we found a hotel not 5 minutes up the road Hotel Brummel and it was the most beautiful lovely hotel i have ever stayed in so we cut our losses with Coronado and moved our things to the new hotel without telling them.
Please do not visit unless you want nightmares.
