After being closed since March 2020 I stayed at the Montcada last week as it has finally re-opened after 16 months and everything is still great.

The staff were all amazing and happy to be back at work and made me feel very welcome to be back. The rooms are spotlessly clean and a good size for the price. Complimentary water in the room is a nice touch. Great soundproofing even though you are on a main street, small noise from the metro below but barely audible. Staff are very attentive and helpful and happy to help with any request.

There was a few teething problems with the room key as they did not seem to open the room door but it was soon fixed.

Breakfast was included and served downstairs, good selection of items, freshly cooked bacon & eggs was delicious. Nice to enjoy a glass of cava with your breakfast and some fresh orange juice.

The Montcada is in an excellent location with great views of the cathedral from it's roof top bar and your room if you are facing that way. Plenty of places to eat and drink are on your doorstep and the metro is directly opposite so everthing you need for a perfect stay in Barcelona. ! Welcome back.

We chose this hotel for its location which is excellent with loads of nearby bars and restaurants to chose from. The hotel reception staff are fantastic, as is the rooftop bar when it’s open. The room wasn’t very big and there is no parking on site which is a problem as the hotel has absolutely no where to pull up to unload.

Visited with my partner for 4 days - excellent service and staff helpful and friendly - and great rooms. Breakfast was fantastic and really tasty. Decent bar with a relaxed atmosphere. Perfect place to get engaged (which we did!) - would recommend!
