Very nice hotel. Pleasant, friendly and helpful staff. Had a personal welcome from Victor the hotel manager which was a lovely touch. Great central location. Quiet even though considerable construction work going on outside, but this did not affect us at all. Would not hesitate to return if visiting Barcelona in the future.

Well situated hotel very well laid out with attractive old world decor. Easy to find and next to Jaume I Metro Station.
All Staff were very friendly and welcoming with any issue resolved without fuss. Breakfast is really good selection and plenty of room.
Rooms over street where road work is ongoing but double glazed so noise in room was minimal. Hotel itself was fairly quiet. Window frames were a little rickety though.
Lovely views over the city and port from the roof bar though this did close at times in the afternoon during our stay due to rain.
Can recommend.

We were so pleased with our stay. We took a car service from the airport which worked out well for us. The street in front is still under construction but we were able to get inside with a bit of maneuvering. After an overnight flight we were glad to arrive.
There was a check-in line, but we sat a bit in the lobby - there was plenty of seating.
Once we registered, we were able to leave our bags as we explored until our room was ready. The receptionist said the rooftop bar opened at noon if we wanted to come back to wait there for our room.
The location is perfect for exploring the area. Many key points of interest in Barcelona are within easy walking distance. We noticed there were an abundance of restaurants, bars and coffeeshops in the neighborhood. There is a metro stop just outside, across the street.
Our room was small, and as mentioned the elevators (2) are small - but we have been to Europe (and NYC) so knew that was normal. Our room had a good storage closet with a minibar and safe. The bathroom was spacious and well supplied - even toothbrushes. One disappointment, but not tragedy, was there were no robes or slippers in our room. We had a "Classic" level room. They are listed on the web page.
I need to mention the great service at the front desk, besides a glass of cava and/or water there are snacks each day. In our room were some biscotti and cookies/biscuits. There was also water and a coffee maker. There was no tea but I'm sure I could have gotten some if I asked. There was an ample supply of coffee, both regular and decafe.
Back to the rooftop. There is plenty of seating, we actually were the only one's there when we went. Sun umbrellas, tables and comfortable lounge chairs and sofas are there. There is a hot tub with towels and a bathroom. We just sat and relaxed.
Eventually a young man came up to ask if we wanted anything to drink. He offered water but said he had a full bar. We did have water and each of us had a drink - one of us might have had two! It was a great afternoon and the views from the rooftop are priceless. He checked in with the front desk and let us know when our room was ready.
The bed was comfortable. There was a hairdryer. All the appointments worked. We didn't have a great view from our room but that was ok. It was quiet at night and the blackout curtains did their job.
We started each day with Breakfast in the downstairs. There was an abundance of food choices, both hot and cold. There was table service, but you also did self-serve.
When we checked out, we were able to leave our suitcases for pick up later in the day.
All in all, I would definitely stay here again. We feel like the location and price were beyond compare.

This hotel was everything we hoped it would be. It very conveniently located, with a subway entrance right across the street, great restaurant options and within walking distance of many attractions. The hotel staff was extremely courteous and helpful. They went out of their way to help us find another tour when one of our tour operators cancelled their tour on us at the last minute. The rooms are clean and comfortable, albeit somewhat small, but that is pretty much the norm in Europe. We would certainly come back for another visit.

Hicieron todo lo posible para ayudarnos a encontrar otro tour cuando el operador de un tour que habíamos reservado lo canceló al últimos momento. Las habitactiones son limpios y confortables. Un poco pequeños, pero eso es la norma en Europa. Volveríamos con gusto para otra visita.

Stayed here for four nights and this was a good hotel for exploring Barcelona. Nearly all positives but with a couple of small niggles in the room.
Firstly, the staff we encountered were all friendly and helpful, especially the team working the breakfast room. Reception were always responsive to questions and requests and booked our open top tourist bus tickets for us making sure we got the concession rate.
Knowing that the hotel is on a busy street I had requested a quiet room with a double bed by email before hand and we were allocated a back room on the 7th floor on arrival which certainly met the brief for being quiet, especially at night. We didn’t get the double bed as it was the usual two single beds connected, but we could live with that for four nights. The room was spacious with plenty of storage and a well-equipped bathroom and very nice toiletries, and the daily room service was very efficient. The niggles however were with the room in that the aircon is not very effective and although it was just about good enough if we kept the blackout curtains shut during the day when we were out, I wonder what it would be like in the height of summer. And the bottom seal of our shower screen had gone meaning water leaked from the shower onto the bathroom floor. We did mention this to reception on the first day and maintenance clearly fiddled with it but didn’t fix it as the whole seal needed replacing. We negated the problem with some well-placed towels, but this did make a bit of a mockery about the request to reuse towels to save the planet.
Fortunately, the rest of the experience was very positive. The breakfast service was very good indeed. Very friendly and chirpy staff here, an extensive range of breakfast options that were frequently replenished and the daily croissants and orange juice provided to the table were a very nice touch indeed.
And for us the location of the hotel was perfect. We like to explore on foot and its only a 10-minute walk to the beach and sea front (best done through the Barceloneta district for seeing the real Barcelona) and the backstreets of the Gothic quarter are fantastic for its independent shop’s tapas bars and restaurants. And then the nearest Underground station is virtually outside the hotel and it’s only a ten-minute walk to Plaça de Catalunya for the start of the tourist busses when we wanted to explore further afield.
So the key question is would I stay here again and the answer is a resounding yes, despite the couple of small niggles.
