I stayed at the Bonanova Aparthotel for three nights from the 7th May. The reception area is very welcoming and check-in was simple. When I opened the door of the apartment, I was a little surprised to see that it seemed quite small with old-fashioned décor.
Having said that, it was very clean. The bathroom was small but the shower provided ample hot water with good pressure. The place is well-furnished and the mini-kitchen area proved useful for preparing snacks/meals. One thing about the apartment that I think needs improving is the air-conditioning. The air comes in via a single inlet above the door (a second one has been blocked up) and quite simply the flow of air is not powerful enough, even when set to maximum. Another small comment I would like to make is that in the wardrobe there is a small safe, opened with a key available in reception. This could be useful for storing important documents and cash. However, rather strangely, there is a charge for this service. Why? It’s not as if another guest could use it – it’s part of the apartment. Of course, a charge should be made if a key is lost, but I think it’s mean to charge guests extra for something that is already in the room. That’s just my opinion, anyway. There is, however, free Wi-Fi which is good plus there is complimentary tea/coffee and pastries in reception in the morning, which is another nice touch. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. The location of the aparthotel is actually excellent. El Putxet station (Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat) is about a 3-minute walk away and trains run very frequently to the Pl. Catalunya, a journey of about 10 minutes. A 10-trip ticket (T10) costs less than 10 euros. Overall, I would say that this is actually a very good place to stay in Barcelona and on the whole I was very comfortable there.
