Comfortable hotel in a sketchy area of Barcelona

Reviewed Jun 20, 2023via mobile
Hotel clean & comfortable but in a very sketchy area of Barcelona, drug addicts, beggars and phone thefts are very prominent in the square on which the hotel is located. If you are not streetwise this isn’t the best place to stay in Barcelona, which is a shame for the hotel and cafes around the square.

Room Tip: The cafe next door has good coffee & friendly staff but don’t leave phones or wallets on the...

The walls are very thin. We stayed in room 409, the room was very lovely but we could hear everything in the room opposite us 402 and the room below us. They kept blasting music and screaming at 3am in the morning. When we reported this to management nothing was done. Beds are comfy and cleaners do a great job. The square outside can be a little intimidating as there are many homeless there begging for money. Only a one minute walk to las ramblas which is great. I would avoid and find somewhere better

Room tip: Take earplugs if you are a light sleeper

The hotel is in a great location. Less than 2 minute walk to las Ramblas with the metro.
The hotel faces a square and our room faced the small road and we had no problem with noise at all.
Room was clean and a small balcony. Bed was comfortable. There is a secure room for luggage in reception.
We never had breakfast as we like to eat out.
Overall the hotel is quiet and a great location.

A favourite necklace went missing from our room. The hotel has not answered my e-mails, not the first and not the reminder.
I know the date it went missing because I have photos taken to document what I was wearing every day. And I know it was not lost outside because I have a photo taken right outside the hotel where I was wearing the necklace.
Regrettably I didn't discover that it was missing until I came home to Norway.

The hotel can be recommended despite the theft and the lack of reaction on my e-mails to the management. Good location, calm and quiet, and very well functioning air condition.

This hotel is in a great location only steps away from the Ramblas. The room was as advertised, it was a premier room in the roof. No views, but not much to see.
The housekeeping team work very hard and room was clean, it also had a little fridge so water could be kept cold.
The welcome was fine, it seemed to be an all male team. They never acknowledged you coming and going tended to keep their heads down.
Outside the hotel was messy, no cleaning or freshening up. It is quite a scruffy small square. No plants at the door in reception felt a little gloomy but is very nice.

The hotel has a great location - close to rambla and to the metro station. I booked it after reading reviews about how quiet it is, but unfortunately my experience was exact the opposite - there is a lot of noise from the street, you cannot sleep with the windows opened (you can still hear the party noise even with the windows closed). As a disclaimer - I visited it in August when it is the peak of tourism, maybe it is different in other months.
Other than that, the rooms are new and modern (quite small), good internet. But overall, for more than 160 eur per night, I would have expected a better experience.
