Small rooms, but very clean and in a great location. Great for people looking to spend most of their time outside. The staff is super nice and courteous. There are several casual restaurants and a great coffee shop right outside of the hotel.

Regarding restaurants, there are multiple options around as we are located in a very central position in downtonw.

I was very dubious when we booked a 'Hostel' but would never class this as one, spotlessly clean, plenty of closet space, modern bathroom with a double shower, towels changed every 2 days, toiletries shower gel, shampoo and conditioner, french balcony, free safe, there isn't tea/coffee facilities in the room but you can hire kettle/fridge for a refundable €5 and there are free herbal/regular tea supply in the lounge plus vending machines, Antonio was fantastic he was a fount of knowledge, nothing was too much trouble, he booked our trips and printed off vouchers anything you wanted he'd bend over backwards to help, central for Ramblas, metro, airport shuttle, coffee bars, restaurants etc. Would go back in a heartbeat.

This hotel was comfortable and a nice cheap place to stay. However, the bald man that looked the reception desk at times was very rude and abrupt. He was never once friendly or approachable. He made walking in unpleasant.
On one occasion we walked in and he just stared blankly at us and said nothing. He then threw his hands up and widened his eyes in a rude manner and said “yes?!” As we were still walking in. We said our last name and he said “for what? What do you want? Check in or what do you want ?” In a very abrupt manner. He was like this on every occasion.
He had seen us at least 4 times previously so I figured he would remember somewhat.
Usually when we stay at hostels and hotels, the person at the desk says “hi” or “how was your day? Or hello, can I help you with anything at all?” ... perhaps he needs a training refresher.
Thank goddess the other people that worked here were friendly and helpful.
Otherwise great stay.
the hostal is in a great location and rooms are very clean. 10 min walk to catalonia sq. Staff were very polite with a wealth of knowledge, and especially Antonio - he is the best receptionist in the world !

Wonderful accommodation for our recent stay in Barcelona.
The check in staff were first class with a wealth of knowledge and advice.
The room ( we had a ground floor room ) was spotless from top to bottom . It was more than big enough for a three night stay .
Location was superb , ten mins walk to Catalonia sq . Plenty of good tapas bars within 2-3 mins walk of the hostel . Should we find ourselves in this wonderful city again ( which I suspect we will ) I would have no hesitation in staying here again ..
