Great location

Reviewed Mar 23, 2020
Amfores staff were excellent, the room was scrupulously clean and the bed comfortable. The one thing that shot the whole thing in the foot was the toilet. At 192 cm, I could hardly sit down to do my business. My knees touched the wall. Fortunately I'm not obese or If id got in there they would have needed a crane to get me out.

However as a place to see the city from it was excellent. probably the best location we had in our trip this year.

Our group of 14 friends spent two nights at the Amfores prior to boarding our cruise ship. All of us loved the location, and the hotel was clean, with great service. Catarina especially gave us service above and beyond our expectations, and we would stay there again if we have the chance. Rooms are small but adequate and given the location and price we were all happy with the stay overall.

My daughter booked Amfores for a birthday treat, and I am so glad she found this lovely boutique hotel. We both enjoyed our stay here. Yes, the rooms are small - its a boutique guest house, but they are very clean and comfortable. The air conditioning was working perfectly. We loved the quirkiness of the hotel. The staff were very friendly and we loved the little brown bag each morning with juice and a cake left outside all the doors - a very nice touch. Breakfast is in a cafe just around the corner, which was nice enough.
The only things I would have liked to have had in the room was a full length mirror and a longer hanging rail for clothes, but beside that, the room was perfect for our needs. We were out all day seeing the sights, so a good comfortable place to sleep and get ready is all we needed.
We would definitely book again.

When we finally found the hotel the staff was very friendly and helpful. The room small but quirky, the bed was comfortable, it was clean and it was tidy. The toilet and shower were virtually in your room with just a glass door so you didn't really have a lot of privacy.I didn't get a lot of sleep first night because it was quite noisy even though the hotel was down a side street but after that I think we got used to it. we pay for breakfast which we had to go out the hotel down the road and round the corner to a small cafe, this was a continental breakfast and it was alright (orange juice was really good). every morning we had a little bag outside our room with two bottles of juice and two continental cakes which was was quite a nice touch. The hotel was a 10 min walk to la Rambla.

We were very wary of staying at Amfores Boutique Guest House after reading reviews about no air conditioning. However the air conditioning was brilliant and had a great nights sleep. Everything was clean and tidy and quiet. Location was excellent and very central - we could get anywhere in 10 minutes with the subway. The staff were absolutely lovely and each morning we had a lovely paper bag of juice and pastry - even when we were up super early! Overall, an excellent stay. Thank you!

We arrived mid afternoon and paid for our room - the reception area looked pleasant, well furnished, staff were friendly. But the rooms are TINY!! Once you have a shower the room smells damp, there is no real storage, the walls are bare and the bed is not sturdy at all! Plus the windows of the neighbours are so close you cannot open the shutters to allow some natural light in if you don’t want everyone to see you!

I could forgive all of these issues were it not for the noisy neighbours, which I think is another building owned by the management. We were told to “respect our neighbours” and keep the noise to a minimum however this clearly does not apply to them! At midnight I complained to reception which fell on deaf ears. And I eventually got to sleep with headphones in and white noise blasting away.

The main function of a hotel is to provide a comfortable nights sleep and unfortunately this hotel fails!
