Based on another trip advisor review, we decided to splurge (542 euros per night!) on the double terrace room (room 412). It has a master bedroom that can be partitioned off from the living room (using sliders) where there is a sofa bed. Both the living room and bathroom, have doors leading to the outdoor double terrace which has a large lounger for 2-3 people, a table with 2 chairs, and even an outdoor shower. The terrace has a view of the Barcelona cathedral.
It was the last destination of a 3 week trip with our 17yr son. He really appreciated the privacy of his living room and we all enjoyed the terrace. One night we skipped the restaurant scene and just enjoyed our home made tapas dinner (bought from the clean, modern, affordable, well stocked Lidl market which is literally next door to the hotel). The hotel breakfast was top notch. Special shout out to Kelly the super friendly waitress from Peru.
This hotel seems to cater to Americans, as lots of the signage is in English. It was also the only hotel in our 3 weeks that had an ice machine. Also , not to be negative, but this was the only hotel in Spain where I found the front desk and concierge to be as friendly and helpful as I am accustomed to in the US. ( I am a fluent Spanish speaker, so I cannot blame the language barrier)
Lots of nice little extras included in your stay: 30 minutes of spa time daily, free self service laundry including detergent, evening wine hour, mobile hotspot loaner, bike loaner
it wasn't cheap, but for us, it was worth it.
