We requested a room with a double bed. The hotel only has double beds in their family and handicap rooms. Since we booked this hotel 4 months in advance, they should have reserved a family room for us. Not tell us all the family rooms were booked and they gave us a handicapped room. Also, I am a Gold member, so this was even more egregious.
This was a handicapped room that had a toilet seat did not sit firmly on the bowl. It was held on with two plastic clamps. It constantly slides off and had to be put back in place and was very uncomfortable. It also was a bit dangerous as it fell off as you got up from the seat. Sorry TMI.
The location is a good ten minutes from the beach. However, for the main attractions of the city you must take the metro. We thought when booking we were near Las Rambles but learned we were near the smaller Las Rambles - not the big and famous Las Rambles.
The room was clean. There is no refrigerator in the room. When I called down to the front desk - none can be provided. Pillows are hard as a rock. The room contains is a small desk. However, they put the room safe on the desk and with the desk lamp there was not enough room to work on my laptop. While there is a bar in the lobby it was ever open.
We were told the hotel only serves breakfast. Breakfast did not have any hot food. There was hard boiled eggs, cheese, cold cuts, yogurt, fruit, and assorted breads.
Unless you are coming to Barcelona for the beach, we would not recommend this hotel. There is nothing near the hotel except for buildings painted with graffiti. When we were staying here, August 2022, there was many on-going construction projects around the neighborhood. The area is very deserted with no restaurants less than a fifteen-minute walk away on the mini-Las Rambles.
