The location is exceptional, cut into the hillside with amazing views of the ocean. The hotel is an older building with rooms having upgrades to a point but are adequately taken cared of, and comfortable. The bathrooms have had upgrades too and are more than amble, toilets are a bit low. 2nd floor is below the restaurant which can get noisy first thing in the morning and late evening.

Housekeeping are exceptional and cannot do enough for you.

The restaurant has great food but the decor is dated. Lisa the server is a great asset to the restaurant but the sad think is there are other servers who need 1 0 1 in customer service. The teenagers who assist in the morning and a server in the evening need an attitude check What I would say is these individuals should not work in hospitality. Because of CoVid the staffing levels were less than expected but didn’t spoil our trip.

PROS
Excellent hotel location. Breakfast was good. View from 7th floor of the waters was superb.
Excellent staff behaviour. Special mention is ELEA of Guest Services.

CONS
No elevator from Lobby to upper floors. The hotel is dated. The carpet in restaurant needs shampooing. The worst part was water pressure in the shower was very low.

I am writing this because I just checked the reviews here on trip advisor and I see management proudly saying that there have been no bedbugs.
WELL!!...

I stayed here on two occasions. Once in july 2020 and once in Sept 2020 (yes, during covid.)

The first time I thought it an ok place to stay while taking a few days of whale watching with the tour company in town.

I returned to do the new grizzly bear tour for a few days and stayed at the anchor inn again. But on the last day (stayed 2 nights) I noticed i had several red blotches on my chest and possibly elsewhere. I checked under the mattress and saw nothing, but there was a small dead bedbug I found under the covers on the sheet.
I collected it, I photographed it, i put it aside with a note for the cleaning crew.
I thought I would have received an email from management but nothing came except for a special offer for my next stay.
So my experience has been.... been there twice.
Fed something once.
My girlfriend slept in separate bed both stays but suffered no bites.
