We arrived Sept 19th, we expected that all services would be available at Painter’s Lodge as it had been highly recommended as the best place to stay in Campbell River if you want to fish. Only rooms and the pub restaurant was open when we arrived. Everything else had been closed, including their April Point site and activity centre. When I booked or subsequent communications from the resort never indicated that services would be very limited during our stay. Also, realized a few hours after checking out that I had left two pieces of clothing in a dresser drawer. Immediately called and told exactly where the clothing was so we could return to pick them up. They couldn’t confirm with housekeeping at that time and never returned my call as promised. We called back twice and were finally told that housekeeping didn’t find anything. When we offered to come back as only 1 hour away, we then told the room was occupied, even though the resort was very quiet when we had been there the two previous evenings. We won’t be back to Painter’s and would not recommend given our experience. Also value for money was poor as rooms are quite dated and fairly basic for the prices charged
