The facility is OK. Nothing at all special. Nothing terrible. Basic accomodations but that was OK by us as we did not plan to stay inside for long. The front desk clerk was very cheerful. What left a very sour taste in my mouth was the detailed list of rules that the hotel has, including a charge of $50 if you forget to put a used towel IN the bathtub? And a $50 charge if you don't run the dishwasher? Really?

Our staff do their best to makes sure our guests feel welcome, we are glad you did. Condos are very different from hotel rooms and require much more cleaning. The list is not so much rules as it is motivation for our guests to leave the suites in a reasonable state. We realize that not all guests need this, but many do. We hope you had a good time in the outdoors as Canmore has a great deal to offer in that department!

Our unit came with a bedroom that has no windows. So much for the 'mountain view' for which we paid extra.

Due to the lack of ventilation, the room got very warm. It was too hot to sleep in even without blankets. This wouldn't be such an issue if you could turn on the aircon, but management have deemed it too cold outside at night to activate it.

Their suggestion to deal with this issue? Open a window. Genius.

On top of this, you get a chorus of toilet, tap and fan noise from the neighbouring units to help you get to sleep.

There is an actual mechanical issue with running the air conditioning when the outside temperature drops below a certain level. It is not a matter of being unwilling, but being unable as the exterior unit can be badly damaged. It is not uncommon in Canmore but we apologize if this was inconvenient. There were windows in your unit through which the mountain view could be seen and for fresh air. Some noise from other units is unavoidable.
We do hope you had a good time during your stay in the Bow Valley.

This property has been semi-converted into permanent housing, and was a little sketchy from the outside, but we found the rooms large, clean, and comfortable. There was no A/C, but we had a fan to draw in cool air from the window. The pool was really nice, although it is in the property next door. The waters slide was a blast - and I am 62!! Jacuzzi also was very large with an outdoor section as well. Location is away from downtown Canmore, but within easy walking distance. 20 minutes to Banff, about 50 to Lake Louise. We were very pleased - found a lot of local awesome hikes by talking to the locals, but also did the big ones at Lake Louise and Moraine Lake. Other than checking in, did not have any interaction with the front desk. Canmore has plenty of shops, restaurants, and a couple large groceries. Can't wait to go back and ride the trail between Can more and Banff.

It sounds like you availed yourself of everything Canmore and the Bow Valley have to offer. That is great to hear! Many people use Canmore as a hub to explore and there is lots to see and do. We are also pleased that you found the suite suitable and the pool and waterslide fun. We sincerely hope you are able to come back and see us soon.

I always stay at Sunset now when I come to stay in the mountains from Calgary. This hotel is BY FAR the best value in the Bow Valley. Comfortable clean bed, large spacious kitchen, some of the furnishings could use an upgrade but for the price it’s a steal! I’ve stayed and most of the other hotels at one time or another to name a few: Basecamp- beautiful but rooms are he size of a coffin and the train next door will keep you up all night, Falcon Crest as very nice but the location sucks and the prices don’t compare, Windtower is cheaper but it’s basically hostel - at least they upgraded their sheets and comforters but nothing else has been updated for 20 years. I also pick this place because they have pet friendly rooms which are super hard to get in the summer. Can’t really vouch for the staff one way or the other. They have always been polite and my room has always been spotless. I read some of the other reviews saying the pull out couch was uncomfortable- lol- when has anyone in the history of the world said “oh this pull out was very comfortable”. Don’t judge this gem on the review of a pull out couch.

The front desk clerk, Ben, did nothing to resolve the music blaring through our walls and the 2nd day when asked to please help he was absolutely belligerent and hung up on me after yelling at me for bothering him last night and then tonight when he was off hours (although his number is listed for help in this situation).

Hotel walls are made of paper and there is no front desk support. You literally have to call someone's cell phone to try and get the neighbor to stop blasting their TV at 1 am. After 1.5h of back and forth with the clerk I found that he isn't comfortable knocking on the door or calling him to ask to turn the volume down, and that it's not loud enough to call the police either so the best thing is for us to just not sleep and struggle through our wknd of hiking. It was like this all wknd. Absolutely horrible place with no management.

We appreciate your feedback but we believe this review is part of the same group above. We definitely don’t encourage our staff, or especially our guests, to knock on another units door for safety reasons. If the volume is loud enough the RCMP can be called, but it must be verified first. We are sorry if you experienced any issues as our goal is for all of our guests to have a great vacation while they are staying with us here in Canmore.

We hope that you had a great time hiking the trails!

This place is equal to Motel 6 but with price of Marriott in downtown Chicago. First thing first there is no one on site after 9 pm! So if you have issue with loud neighbors, which we struggled for two nights in a row, no one is there to follow up. Check-in process was difficult. The lady was super looking forward to hold deposit rather than explaining the amenities of the hotel. Room is clean but poorly designed and everything is super old and bad shape. Beds and pillows are super uncomfortable. Walls are pretty thin and trust me you can hear every single noise!!
It’s not actually a hotel. It’s bunch of rooms in a building that couple of them are belonging to this company ... super weird.
I will never recommend this place to anyone specially with the price they are charging you

We thank you for taking the time to write a review. Please note that our rates are very competitive in the Bow Valley, but during peak times the cost is definitely higher in comparison to the offseason. We suggest that, if budget is of concern, that you consider coming in the fall or spring season next time when the rates are a little lower. Our front desk is open until 10 PM Sunday to Thursday and 11 PM on Friday and Saturday nights. We also have an emergency line for urgent matters. We actually manage 4 properties in the area but some units in our buildings are privately owned which is quite common here in Canmore. There was a report from our staff of a noise complaint but when we checked multiple times it was quiet. We do take noise complaints seriously but we need to verify this before any penalties will be applied. Either way, we do apologize for any inconvenience. Our units are routinely maintained and upgraded so we are surprised by your comments, but we will definitely take them into account.

We hope to see you back in the near future,
