Wonderful stay

Reviewed May 28, 2024via mobile
My husband & I stayed 2 nights. The staff are very helpful, the room was very spacious & clean, the breakfast had many options (we arrived early so sat by the window which was lovely. Then left quickly so others can enjoy). I appreciate the oat milk option very much.
The walk to Union Station is about 20 minutes even though the phone app walking directions say it was half that. With luggage, we did it upon arrival but checking out, we took an Uber/Lyft which was totally worth it not to roll suitcases/wait for next train. I think it was only $10 more than we would have paid for UPExpress. A bargain!

The hotel itself is very nice. Only downsides are the weak shower pressure and the breakfast. The breakfast space is utter chaos, even at 8:20 on a weekday. It’s too small to accommodate the number of guests. There aren’t enough tables. There is no cut up fresh fruit at breakfast. The oatmeal is watery and lukewarm warm.

Great service and Great location, spotless. We were there for a show and it was perfect quick walk to all theatres, we ended up going to a 2nd show. Great restaurants near by, the Indian restaurant attached is delicious and amazing service. Breakfast was great with a lot to choose from, just not fresh fruits. Staff is friendly and hard working. Everything you can want or need in close proximity, we walked from Union, to Harbourfront, up to Eaton Centre, CN tower. Hot tub was great to relax in. It's my first time staying in this area but it won't be the last.

This location is superb, within walking distance of Eaton Centre, making it perfect for those willing to stroll for about 20 minutes. The suite was impeccably clean, and all staff members, from the front desk to the breakfast room, cleaning crew, and doorman, exuded warmth and helpfulness, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere. The breakfast offerings, both hot and cold, surpassed those of any other hotel's complimentary breakfast we've experienced, with delightful touches and garnishes enhancing the experience. The coffee station boasted a variety of brews and syrups. While the sofa bed could benefit from an upgrade, the suite overall was well-maintained and tidy, despite the age of some furnishings. Conveniently located near Eaton Centre, CN Tower, and Ripley's, this hotel offers everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The exceptional hospitality provided by the staff truly elevated the welcoming ambiance. Without a doubt, we would choose to stay here again.

Room tip: It is slightly isolated but if you are willing to walk then great.

I arrived tonight at check-in and found out that the hotel cancelled my booking. The hotel never contacted me to inform me of the cancellation. I spoke to the Manager Souvik and he said they emailed me, then he backtracked and said they had none of my info on file from my travel agent. He said they’ve been sold out for days now and they cancelled my booking because it was “non-guaranteed”. They charged my credit card beforehand which had recently been cancelled due to fraud and used the charge as a reason to cancel. This practice seems predatory to maximize profit in high volume times and I’m contemplating filing a complait with better business. On top of this the Manager Souvik was rude and lacked empathy throughout. Worst hotel experience ever. Shame on Mariott for such a dishonest practice.

Outstanding customer service! Loved the Bon Voy app where I could chat, check in and send requests at any time; these were promptly answered and quickly acted upon. Our one bedroom suite was perfect and included all amenities including full kitchen; this is amazing for a longer stay with the family. We were here for a dance competition and loved that it included a buffet breakfast; this was a great start to our busy day.

It is located only a five minute walk to the Metro convention center which was very convenient for us.

Valet parking is $60 but well worth it; in/out privileges and top notch service. Drive up right to the door on Wellington street and they will come and help you right away.

I would suggest including more blankets, pillows and sheets when there is a family staying in the room as this may be required with the pull out couch.

Thank you so much for having us!
