We stayed in a king harbour view suite at the Cambridge Suites Hotel for 3-nights in late-Sep ($138/night). The hotel was a bit dated and the facade unimpressive, but its location and the size of its suites more than compensated. Our 5th floor suite, with a great view of the harbour through 2 windows in the seating area and “office,” was nicely arrayed with a small kitchen (sink, microwave, coffee maker, mini-fridge) with a breakfast bar, a large bedroom (chest of drawers, closet, side tables, wall-mounted TV) on the entry level, then the desk and sitting area (large sofa, chair, wall-mounted TV, coffee table) a couple of steps down. I appreciated the office, with a desk, functional chair, lamp, telephone, a great place to set up the computer and other electronics.
The location was excellent, next to the citadel, a short walk down the hill (about 6 blocks) to restaurants and the harbour boardwalk. Our room came with parking in the basement garage and a "light continental" breakfast in the lobby restaurant – quite nice with muffins, croissants, quiche, granola, yogurt, juice, coffee & tea. The rooftop deck had seating to enjoy the view of the citadel and a bit of a peak-a-boo view of the harbour. There was also a nice looking, large hot-tub, sauna and exercise facility. There was a clothes washer/dryer in the basement ($3/load). The only negatives were the wall-mounted TV's, which did not swivel, causing a bit of neck strain, the irritations of miscommunications in getting supplies to the room due to covid policies about housekeeping, and a somewhat weak internet. Overall, a great choice in Halifax, a bargain at the price.

Across from Citadel and easy walk to historic Halifax and waterfront walk, restaurants galore. Clean, friendly, large rooms and rooftop deck on a sunny day. I highly recommend this hotel. Great price, location and breakfast included makes an easy start to the day.

Beautiful King Suite with view of Halifax Harbour. When we called to book, I asked for an updated room (based on the online reviews). However, when we arrived, we were given a very outdated, smelly room. I inquired at Front desk about a more appropriate room and they graciously reassigned us to a nicer room without any hassle. They also price matched the Expedia rate for us, allowing us to book directly with hotel.
Plenty of underground parking was available for a $25 daily fee (common downtown at most hotels).
Sadly, the rooftop restaurant was not open during our stay.
Breakfast is "included" however, after having it first morning, we opted to go elsewhere. It was very basic, cold and bland. Same exact items (including "hot option") was on offer each day. Serving staff were not the friendliest bunch.
Front desk staff were very accommodating, friendly and helpful.
Hotel is close to Public Gardens and about 5-10 minute walk up the hill from waterfront.
Would definitely stay here again!

Although we had to wait for an hour for our room to be ready, our stay from 1-13 sep 2021 was very good. Service to our room was great. Breakfast should have a better selection as it was the same breakfast items everyday. Location is great as it is closed to several restaurants. The room could use a refresh as some wallpaper.pieces were peeling. Overall, I would recommend the hotel as it was a good value for our money.

Internet is either slow or did not work. Noisy drunken kids screaming and playing just outside of hotel entrance in the front parking lot. Noises can be clearly heard on the 5th floor. I will never go back.

Our suite was spacious and well equipped. The Cambridge is in the core of downtown Halifax, where with many hotel options, the Cambridge stands out. The reason? The superb staff. They go the extra distance with each and every request and/or service. Cheerful and professional, they took care of us promptly, and with great professionalism and patience. The rooftop bar offers a superb view of the Halifax skyline, and the wonderful servers always greeted us by name, and asked how our day had been. At the end of a long day, it was the perfect place to unwind. They have music on the weekends. A gem of a hotel.
