I am a heavy traveller – travel both for work and leisure internationally a lot. I am used to spending long periods in hotels and so far I have been pretty fortunate - no bigger issues ever encountered. Until this time.
There is not much good I can share about this hotel. By far the I could classify the stay as worst experience I have ever made.
On the positive side:
There is nothing wrong with the location. The rooms are ok too. Food is fine as well.
On the negative side:
We got a key card to a room that was already occupied when we arrived. Needless to say we scared the person who slept soundly in there! The reception could not care less, just gave us another room.
How generous of them :) I understand, mistakes can happen. Then again, they should be more careful. Will they learn from it? I truly doubt it. Only plus side that afterwards they gave us free parking.
During the first days of stay one member of our group reported that 10€ vanished from her wallet. We reported that incident and they claimed that they will investigate. This time the hotel manager descended from the throne and spoke with her. Promised to investigate.
After a few days I noticed that 100€ is missing from my wallet. I approached the reception and again - they promised to investigate. I also sent an email to them describing the case and asking for feedback - but they did not even bother to respond back. That much of a respect towards a customer.
My travel agency approached them and they stated that they checked the logs and it was only us and cleaning service that entered the room. I don’t want to imply anything here. I have no hard evidence. Hard to deny the facts though. I had 100€ more money in my wallet - and then it was gone… On top the person from the hotel, which my agency was in touch with, twisted a few facts.
Few days passed - another incident, different room, different person – 25€ gone. Same pattern - money stolen from a wallet hidden inside a bag.
Things like that happen, I know, but it does not mean that we have to accept them as they come. You should be able to trust that your security and your belongings are in good hands.
Not even close in here. What I find totally disgusting is that someone was going through our personal belongings in a place you should feel safe. Your own hotel room you pay for.
The worst part however is the indifference of the hotel staff. They don’t seem to care at all. Close their eyes? Their opinion was that they trust the cleaners and anybody else can’t be. After the third case they gave us safety box free of charge.
One additional negative side is very loud “entertainment” – during the days and late evenings. The noise was so loud that it was uncomfortable to be in the room or in the bar.
