Despite having a confirmed booking on check in I was told the room I booked was ‘full’ for my first night and I was told I could cancel my 5 day booking by the obnoxious, argumentative owner who actually wanted me to cancel because he wanted to rent the room at a higher rate than I’d paid.
His staff took me to an appalling room used by staff/migrant workers. I refused to stay and spent 2 hours searching around Kamala but could not find an empty room anywhere due to it being New Year.
I had no choice but stay in the disgusting room that you wouldn’t pay 300b to stay in. To make matters worse the owner told me I’d have to pay the full room rate 2550b. A total joke. He would not listen to reason and also told me I had to pay in cash!!
I’ve stayed here 20+ times under the previous UK owner/Manager and everything was great.
The new owner has zero business sense and was totally unreasonable about the situation. I contacted booking.com who compensated me for the full amount of the first night stay.
