Relaxed tropical getaway

Reviewed Dec 26, 2022via mobile
Stayed here on a quick couple getaway but it would be great for singles or families as well. Rooms were simple but had what we needed. No elevator so if you can’t climb stairs stay on the ground floor. It didn’t bother us at all but just good to note. The pool was clean and small but had great lounge chairs. The staff was helpful and we appreciated the discount on breakfast at the 3 restaurants. The hotel is in the center of town a short way to the beach. They have chairs and umbrellas all set up at the beach. The entrance is next to Villa Renaissance. Would 100% stay here again.

This hotel is terrible! Do not stay here! It is over priced and under staff. There is 1 receptionist who double duty as the manager. Their customer service is poor. They advertise free breakfast which isn’t true. They give you a breakfast voucher to restaurants but the voucher value is for $10. I booked the room for 3 people only for them to tell me that I can only get 1 voucher because I booked the room. There isn’t anyone on staff after 8pm. I do not recommend this hotel!

I’m sorry you did not enjoy your stay. I have never once been told we are understaffed. We aim to be the best value hotel on the island. Our hotel breakfasts are rates the highest on Booking which is the only place that rates that amenity. We give vouchers to all people listed on a reservation. If a guest tries to get a cheaper price by not listing the correct number of room occupants that is not the fault of the hotel. Everyone that books to stay with us by putting in the correct information will never have an issue. And even simple mistakes can be easily handled with the hotel as no one is perfect and I make many myself. Just to clarify the voucher has different values at the different properties we partner with. Some with a value as high is 15 plus a free beverage for instance at Island scoop. The lowest value is 10 dollars but has a free coffee in addition. Instead of a poor house offering we cater to all pallets but sometimes a guest will need to upgrade should they wish. All the best.

I’m sorry you did not enjoy your time. Our staff did our best to look after all your needs. All the other guests in the party said how wonderful of a time they had and how they would be back. As the best value hotel on the island there are limits to what we can provide. All the best.

While it’s still not a 4 minute walk to the beach from here and the walkway is still pretty raunchy, Grace Bay Suites have tried their best to make our vacation enjoyable. They’ve moved our room, helped schlep all our stuff from the 3rd to the 1st floor and we now have a charming view of the pool, palm trees and a large lanai. A big thank you to Phillips, Ebon and Leticia of GBS!

Room tip: Try for a ground floor by the pool which is lovely but very small

I'm glad they were able to accommodate your wishes. Looking after our guests is our most important priority. As far as going to the beach everyone walks at a different speed so I should clarify that the walk is about 350 metres as long as the guest is going on the pathway beside Villa Renessance. That is the best way to go because our beach chairs and umbrellas are right there. We look forward to welcoming you back in the future.

Perfect location, central to everything grace bay. Easy beach access with umbrellas and loungers provided.. we really liked the breakfast voucher that could be used at three different restaurants. We only tried two, shay cafe and Lemon 2 Go. Both were excellent with similar menus and prices. The hotel was a very basic 2.5/3 star hotel but was everything we needed for a good price. Clean with a comfortable bed! Would definitely stay here again.

As someone who travels a lot I must say that Turks and Caicos is at the bottom of my list.
First do not go between august and October, that’s there down time. Therefore many places are closed. It’s considered their off season.

Let’s get to these suites. First off when the front desk lady leaves you cannot get ice , or help on anything you need which she’s leaves like around 6pm. The ice machine is in the main office. there’s a gentlemen that does maintenance and she urges people to knock on his door which is extremely inconvenient. That same gentlemen doesn’t even say good morning. So I definitely didn’t want to disturb him.

They have three floors, so if you in the 3rd floor I got bad news for you, THERE IS NO ELEVATOR. With someone traveling with a baby , this was terrible for me.

The front desk girl, was very condescending. Although she was nice sometime, she didn’t want to change my breakfast voucher when I had lost it. I told her I can call the restaurant and verify I didn’t use it and she still would not give me a new slip. I had only been gone for less than 10 minutes. I wanted to change the place because the “ sandbox” treated us so poorly so we decided not to eat there. The front desk girl would not give us a new slip to the usual place we would go to. No help. I just wanted to change the place and have my regular breakfast. She could of verified I didn’t use the voucher but NO, she refused and brushed me off.

You are on your own !

Refrigerators are empty. WAter is $2, and it’s charged to your room. The lady that cleans and does room service didn’t even give us hand soap. We use our dove soap to wash our hands. We didn’t even wanna bother: the showers have no tub and they smell funny.

People in this island aren’t that friendly. I travel all over the world. I was very disappointment.

I’m sorry you did not enjoy your time. You are correct the ice machine is in the office. Our office hours are between 8-8. All rooms have mini fridges for the use of our guests as well as a safe. You are also correct that we do not have elevators as any other hotels on the island other than Beaches. We do our best to accommodate guests on the main floor should they request. Unfortunately we pay per voucher and once given we are charged with the restaurants even if not redeemed. All rooms have small bar soaps for hands and all showers have body wash, shampoo and conditioner. As a hotel we have someone that stays on property and is there for late night emergencies/check-ins/lost keys, etc. Safety is paramount in the business and we take every possible precaution to make sure of the safety of our guests. If you knocked on the after hours office Phillips is always there to help out guests. I do apologize you found our front desk staff condescending as they are usually regarded in such high regard by our guests. They are a big reason why they are always full. I wish you all the best in all your future travel plans. All the best. Chris
