Wow! Just amazing!

This place was the best meal of our trip. Delicious mussels, black ink rice, baby squid and a spinach salad that I am still dreaming about. The place gets booked so make a reservation. It’s small, but very cute and the food is amazing. The service was good and friendly. Our family of 3 spent €80 for a good sized lunch with wine and beer. I would definitely go back.

Nice atmospheric and quaint restaurant with excellent food and wine

Had been recommended this place and found it delightful. Slightly confused at the start as there were no menus but eventually another member of staff took over and sorted everything out. Food wws suggested and prepared freshly...must mention the fish (dorada from memory) best I have had...organic white wine excellent

Squeeze in on a pavement seat or squidge inside. You;d better have booked or no chance. This place is well known and run precisely. I think they get 2 seatings at each meal - but you won;t feel rushed. We left the ordering to the waiter/owner/boss. he just asked us what we didn't want to eat and then we let the food come as he chose. Nothing disappointed. Each was a nice surprise.

There has been a bar here for many years,under different managements - I had last been there about 10 years ago.The staff are friendly & professional,the few tapas & wine we had were all good. But...we will not return,the main reason being the inordinately high prices: we were faced with a bill which in our opinion was absolutely unjustified given the few tapas we had. What is irritating is the lack of a price list for available dishes, which the waiter announces (the wine - price indicated,to be fair- was all the same overpriced, i.m.h.o.) A pity. This left a rather bitter aftertaste and dampened what had otherwise been a very enjoyable evening

Tourist trap bar mut

Went in februay with my wife. They don’t have menu, the waiter explained what they had at our table. My wife tried 3 white wines none of them were great. She almost ordered a fish, but when i asked for the price it was 50€, for a whole fish. Instead she ordered a spinash salad. A very small bowl diameter 10 cm which to our surprise costed 15,70€. I ordered a steak tartar, unfortunately the size of a starter, but the price of a main course 19€. These are not the prices you mightt expect in Spain. Probably they are aware and that’s the reason they don’t have a menu. It realy feld like a rourist trap

This was our first meal in Barcelona, and it was both the most expensive and most disappointing. We sat outside and they didn't bother bringing a menu or even really explaining what was available. We were recommended an egg carpaccio, which ended up being a sort of unseasoned egg yolk mash with no more than five sad, limp shrimps thrown on it. A group of American tourists next to us asked what we ordered, and they looked pretty disgusted when we showed them the egg carpaccio. I would definitely not recommend this place. Don't get fooled by the sleek decor.

first time, last time and never again

I am not at all happy with the restaurant, do not see why all the hype. Yes, it was busy, yes, seems to be popular and has good reviews, but simply did not work for our party (of 6). What they lack is transparency. Yes the meny is there hanging, but there are so many extras that they encourage you to take, but they come at quite a price. Also we had the menu explained to us, but that was just so much information to process, not being familiar with the cuisine. The quality of the food did not merit the price, we took a steak to share but there was quite some fat on it. For that price I expected prime beef, with succulent meat. Then, you order a paella, and then we were encouraged to order a fish on top of it, quite unusual. In any case I can go on forever, but let me stop here. Bottom line - expensive, not transparent, expensive and not very cheap for the quality. Really disappointing experience on our last evening in Barcelona. Avoid it and just take few steps more to Estel de Gracia restaurant, if you are after more down to earth establishment and experience.

Food and ambience were lovely. However, when we came to pay they added an extra 45€ for a fish they recommended for the paella. This was not made clear when we ordered. Wouldn’t go back and please be aware if you visit!. I would also note that it seemed full of tourists. Maybe locals are more savvy!

Not worth it

We were rather disappointed. The food was ok, but definitely not worth the price. We ordered some tapas and the Catalan paella (Arros de Llotja) with two shrimp and 1/2 fish. The paella cost a whopping 70 € and this was not mentioned before ordering! The rice in the paella was good, but the fish was very bland and desperately needed salt. The shrimp did not taste good and they were served with intestines and all in place. Simply not worth the money. We were seated on the bar which was quite a small table space for the paella dish. The waitress was helpuf and nice but clearly in a hurry. One of the tapas we ordered was never served to us, but it was included in the check. We cannot recommend this place based on our experience.

Went there on Friday and immediately went back on Saturday

My reserved "seat" was at the bar which worked great as the bartender was friendly and ready to help with anything I needed. My order was four glasses of wine and four seafood tapas. Otherwise, I let the team there pick the actual wines, the dishes, the pairings and the order in which they were brought. The wines by the glass were excellent with the final glass being an outstanding Rioja, delivered by a Coravin. Have already recommended to friends!

The place is okay, the food is not bad, overpriced compared to the quality and the quantity , the order is by piece, no menu, even the board only lists the appetizers that is not understood for non locals, the waitress lists the options of raw food but ull never know how much ull end up paying for what you are ordering, She noticed that i dont want raw food, she suggested Chicken with potato dish, the taste was okay, but we were charged 50 euros for this platter which is full of chicken bone leg. i don't like surprises like this. we paid 100 euros for 2, we ate empanadas on our way back:)

The food at Bar Mut is fantastic. Menu changes almost everyday, everything we ordered tasted amazing. The service team was great too, had very detailed infomration about each dish on the menu. Was our second visit there, will be happy to go back.

Español & English opinion: Es una lugar común y corriente con aires de ser más de lo que es, hay pocas opciones para comer. De lo que pedimos no había nada (y fuimos en el primer turno). Nos impusieron que comer con las pocas comidas disponibles. Caro en exceso por un servicio muy pobre, los meseros apuran a los comensales. Terrible y pésima experiencia. No lo recomendamos en absoluto. It's an ordinary place which brags of something they are far from being. There are very few options to eat, we ordered a few and they'd run out of all our options (and we went there during the first shift). We were told what to eat because there was very little available. On top of everything, it was a complete rip-off, expensive is the least one could say. The service was poor, the waiters were pushing us to get done. A terrible experience. Not recommendable at all.

Great food, very very bad service!

Let’s start to say that the food was really good! We really lked all of it and the wine (verdejo) was also very good. Unfortunately the service was very bad and overshadowed the good food. There was a shift and the waiter told us we had two hours. After 30 minutes there was still no menu. After 35 (or more) minutes the waiter told us what the menu was. It went really fast so we asked him to tell us the menu again. We ordered our dishes and as said before they were great. We noticed that the staff was telling about is (i dont’t know why) and we felt not welcome anymore. We had to pay €120,-. We wanted to give a €10 tip, but the staff did not come to us (again) and it took really lang before we were able to pay. After waiting for about 10 minutes we paid the bill without giving a tip, becauss of the bad service and arrogance of the staff. The boy (who was the waiter this whole night) did not even look at us or said goodbye. Very dissepointed in the service. Next time we will spent our money (and tips) in a place that deserves it!

Don't eat here

Just had lunch here and found that food very overrated and wine over price. I have been in Spain for 21 days and I have had better food and wine. Sulking pig bad and Razor clam so small and taste very ordinary. A glass of white cost 5.6 euros, more than many hotels.
