We made a reservation for a Tuesday night and got here slightly late about 9.30pm. Not sure what time they close at night, but it was still relatively busy in the restuarant, when we got there. We had our table already reserved and promptly shown to our table. Staff made us feel welcome. The customers looked like a mixture of locals and tourists. We ordered about 5 tapas dishes which were all delicious. We also tried the octopus which we had seen as once of the most popular dish in photos of the restuarant. But frankly it looks much better than it tastes! We also had the mellow rice which was very nice tasty. They have a wide selection of wines. Because we had a lot of seafood tapas, I had a lovely fresh white wine. Nice atmosphere in the restuarant. Friendly staff who made some food recommendations. The staff also explained to us the dishes when they bought them out to us. Total bill for two was around EUR70-80 which was fine for a nice restuarant experience with good food. Very good

We randomly bumped into this place and who could imagine it was this good! I am always cautious about places in central as they may be touristy traps. This one isn’t, the owner immediately made ourselves feel comfortable with jokes and explaining the menu, with a recommendation of tapas (they have a long menu as well as specials of the day). We loved everything, I particularly liked the provolone and truffle egg and the salted mushrooms. Writing this review to keep this name on my account for the next time I’m around!

A must visit Tapas Bar. The Menu , Quality of food, Attentiveness of staff, and ambiance was ideal.
The Staff remembered that I had advised it was a birthday celebration and although we were well fed from the tapas menu insisted we had a complementary desert to complete our experience. We will definitely revisit The Sopa Boba and thoroughly recommend the restaurant to whoever visits Barcelona….Basically the evening was the highlight of our trip.

I want to give the benefit of doubt as I suspect we just made the wrong food choices! The waitresses were nice, and they did their very best to solve a small misunderstanding on the reservation. As vegetarian I could not find lots of varieties; I also found ham in a dish that was not supposed to have according to the menu (eggs and potato with truffle oil). However, it was my bad as I could have clarified my diet requirement. The food we ordered was a bit too fatty and not super easy to digest. Not a great experience but not bed… I am curious to try it again!

It is understandable that with Covid and lack of business restaurants need to cut back but Sopa Boba has reduced their menu to about a dozen choices and while before everything was special and different now they carry pretty much what every other tapas bar in Barcelona offers, with a couple of exceptions.
Now they have a written wine list and the prices for bottles have gone up noticeably from a couple of years ago.
We had gone there for lunch in December and it was, frankly, very poor but we decided to give it another try last night for dinner and although it was better food and quality than lunch still is not what it used to be.
I hope they turn it around now that things are picking up.

Poor and unprofessional service, lack of client orientation. We ordered beef, it was too rare at least the waitress didn’t clarify our preferences how a meat should be done. When we asked the waitress to prepare it more, in one minute the dish was back without difference. We felt lack of attention and disrespect when we finished our dinner and were waiting for the receipt so I had to come to the cash myself desk and ask another waitress to pay the receipt.

It was a delightful evening considering the service as well as the supreme quality of the food. All of the meals we had were taken to another level but the some of the best ones were the oxe, the thai chicken and the pork belly. And don't forget the chocholate textures!

Very different tastes and lovely staff. There are very few tables outside but the inside tables were good too. The food is delicious. The waitress will tell you that they recommend 3-5 tapas for a couple and she was right, we stopped at 4 and it was very nice.
We tried a couple of other restaurants in that region and this was way better than most of them.
I strongly recommend the place.

As soon as you enter the place, you are literally treated as family aiming for one goal:
Making your stay as good / as perfect as possible.
You are walked through the „old school menu“, which is written down on a board, are able to ask questions about each and every dish and get recommendation for every dish.
We have been overwhelmed by the way dishes are presented and have been blown away with & by every bite we took.
No matter it it was the starting Burrata, the following Octopus, the rounding up Steak and the final dessert. Every dish was just GREAT!
Food is just awesome and best part is, the owner treats you like family.
We highly recommend this place and for sure we will be there the next time we are in Barcelona!

We ate here last week and it was the best tapas we had over our whole holiday. We stumbled across the place as we were overwhelmed with the number of restaurants in Barcelona and we're so glad we did!
The inside is modern with a relaxed atmosphere. The service was extremely friendly, attentive and fast. We ordered four dishes between two of us: the burrata with pesto, the patatas bravas, the provolone and the picanha. Every dish was incredible, so full of flavour and cooked to perfection.
I personally find patatas bravas to be one of the most bland/uninspired dishes whenever I eat tapas, I never choose them. But these were unbelievable, they were really crispy outside with a soft fluffy centre, perfectly seasoned with sea salt, rosemary and the garlic allioli sauce. I've never had bravas like them and I don't think I will again. They are a must if you visit this restaurant.
The prices are well worth the quality of the food here. I 100% recommend this restaurant while you're in Barcelona, you won't be disappointed!

We had the most amazing experience dining here with friends. After notifying the server of my wife's allergies (tree nuts, peanuts, avocados), the manager personally took care of us for the rest of the evening. We ordered several dishes and in particular we loved the oxtail, sea bass ceviche, and green curry with vegetables. The vermouth was excellent! I highly recommend visiting this restaurant. You will not be disappointed.

This restaurant has some of the best food coupled with great and friendly staff we were lucky enough to find while in Barcelona! I was in Barcelona for 4 days in December and went twice and also 5 days in January and again went twice. Would have eaten there more if they were open every day of the week. It’s that good! From meat eaters to vegetarians to picky eaters, this place will make everyone happy! (Try the duck, try the burrata, try it all!). Fantastic wine selections. Truly an all around great dining experience! You won’t be disappointed!

What a place! Went here with my daughter and we both love good food. The menu is amazing and it was hard to decide what we wanted to order. The creations of the chef are of excellent taste and very rich in flavors. We were so satisfied with the food and the amazing staff that we came back the next day to try the rest of the menu.
A must go for everyone that loves good food. I also ordered some wine by the glas which was of high quality. I fell in love with the place and will for sure come again when back in Barcelona.

An absolutely exceptional experience! Every dish was a delicate combination of flavours and textures, but all totally delicious. The waitress, Maria, gave great advice on food and wine. She really helped to make it a fantastic evening. Totally recommend.

Todo es muy bueno y delicioso en el Sopa Boba!
I had a great time, and was seated at the bar, without a reservation. Came in alone but sat next to two other solo travelers and we all ended up in conversation and sharing food. The food was exceptionally delicious and so fresh. And the drinks were well balanced and creative.
I had the bravas (with a slightly spicy chili sauce) and the sea bass ceviche with mango.
For drinks, I had two amazing non alcoholic cocktails with the Hendricks 0.0 - the crazy loca and the south side.
The staff members were so kind and thoughtful, dealing with my jet lagged Spanish and talked me through the menu in English. I will definitely return when I’m in Barcelona again and will be sure to make a reservation because I lucked out this time sin reserva!
