    Amazing!
What a great place. LOTS to see, many viewing platforms and even can go down to the beach/river and see other areas with the canyon etc. Spent lots of time here exploring and worth a stop.

    Unusually informative
We stopped by these falls as an afterthought, and so glad we did. It was a beautiful short drive on hwy 93A, after visiting Edith Cavell glacier. If you go to Athabasca Falls, be sure to walk all the walkways and take a look at the descriptive signs. There's quite a bit more to it than just the main falls, though they were spectacular. We spent about 45 minutes here and really enjoyed it. Note that the walks involve stairs, so not accessible to all. Plenty of parking.

Wow, just when we thought we had seen our best Falls already, we visited Athabasca Falls!
Rain couldn't damper the beauty and magnificence of these Falls. You can view the Falls just a short distance from the parking lot or you can venture further around to the left (with the Falls on your left) for even more amazing views. It is actually a double cascade side by side that you cannot see at the first viewpoint. And don't forget to turn around to look over the bridge on the other side to see the beautiful canyon below. You can then walk down along side of the canyon, a bit of a short incline, and a bit slippery in the rain, but still beautiful views of the river through the canyon and then spilling out into a beautiful, wide riverbed.

    Great views besides parking area
This is a must stop on way to or from Jasper on Icefields parkway. parking is right beside falls. Lots of view and trails a short walk away. Take the time to go down near the lake for some great views of the rocks and

    Majestic and fast flowing
We called here en route from Lake Louise to Jasper on a Saturday in early July. The car park was full so it was one in one out. Patience is required if travelling at peak times of the day or year or at weekends as it gets extremely busy. However, It is worth the short detour off the highway. Given that the melt had not long taken place, the waterfall was large and fast flowing and provided some great pictures. The pathways around the area can vary from flat to uneven and the stairs are narrow in places to the point that you have to wait for others to come up (or down). Overall, even though we had visited the falls in late May back in 2016, it was definitely worth the second visit.

Beware that parking fills up, so you may want to plan ahead or circle for a while
On the icefields parkway, just a short walk from the parking lot to the falls. There are interpretive signs to add information. Very good view of the falls, and opposite the falls a trail that leads to a lake. Easy to see (parking aside) - and worth seeing.

A relatively quick and pleasant stop along the Icefields Parkway
Located in Jasper National Park just south of the town of Jasper, Athabasca Falls is a popular stop for those taking the scenic drive along the famed Icefields Parkway between Jasper and Banff National Parks. My wife and I visited here during mid-October 2023. You’ll realize how popular the falls are as soon as you drive into the parking lot and see how large the lot is, with rest rooms and space to accommodate buses. The trail to the falls is short, flat and paved. It wasn’t very crowded when we visited, but we noticed that most visitors were practically racing to get to the viewing platform. I’d recommend resisting the temptation to rush and take in the sights, as there are some nice views of the Athabasca River as it flows toward the falls. The falls themselves are impressive for the strength of the water flow – they really do roar. The main viewing area in front of the falls is fairly small, so you may need some patience in order to get the photo you want. Visiting Athabasca Falls may not be a life-changing experience, but is pleasant and easy way to stretch your legs and take in some of the unique beauty the Canadian Rockies have to offer.

    Crowded but worth it!
I hesitated giving these falls five stars because of the crowd situation. However, these falls are a must see on a trip to the Icefields Parkway. There are paved paths around the falls. Do not miss the section of the trail that takes you through a former channel of the falls down to the river.

    Picturesque Falls
These falls, just 30kms south of Jasper, were so picturesque! I absolutely loved them. There was a large volume of water when we were there in September. Clear, paved paths, with some steps, led to viewing areas at the top, middle and base of the falls. It was interesting to view the falls from these different angles, especially the canyon, potholes and downstream flow. It's about a 1 km out-and-back trail (15mins), but allow more time for admiring the scenery and taking photos! Athabasca Falls may not be famous for height or width, but the volume of water and background of forests and mountains create a stunning setting for these gorgeous falls. There were toilet facilities at the car park.

    Lovely views.
Visited: 01/06/2023. Not a bad walk to see these Falls. Fantastically powerful and set with a stunning backdrop of mountains. Stunning to see the falls where the Glacier runs off from and beautiful blue waters. Nice little place to have a break from driving for some lovely views. If you are able to explore and follow the step trails (can be steep, be careful) and follow the falls to the massive lake it flows into. The entire area is beautiful. Includes lots of stairs so most of it in not accessible for wheelchairs.
