Nestled on the beachfront of West Bay, Paradise Beach Hotel delights many with its prime location near water activities and local markets, despite the bustling atmosphere. The resort's natural setting and cultural events are well-received, and guests have called out the attentive staff and enjoyable pool among the commendable amenities.
However, some have pointed out slow service and questioned the value, finding services overpriced. The hotel's cleanliness earns rave reviews, although a few visitors mention room decor could be refreshed.

My wife and I spent a week in May 2021 at Paradise Beach Hotel in West Bay Beach. We used their airport transfer and they were easy to find at the airport. It is about a 20 to 30 minute drive to the hotel from the airport so you get to see a little of the island. The check in was quick and we were shown to our room on the first floor in the Oceanic Building. Our reservation included breakfast which had a wide selection for all tastes. They had fresh fruit, cheese, cold cuts, breads, cookies, bacon or sausage, local beans, local dishes, scrambled eggs and an egg station for eggs or omelets to order. Oliga was quick to bring us fresh squeezed orange juice after she had served us the first morning. She also was in charge of the waffle irons for custom waffles. Our room was very comfortable with a king size bed, chair, desk and small refrigerator. Our room was kept very clean (sorry we did not get the name of the young lady that cleaned our room). Not only did she keep our room clean but added touches, like fresh flower blooms, to make us feel special. Paradise Beach Hotel is located in the center of West By Beach. You can walk in either direction along the beach to restaurants, water activities and other hotels. It is about a 30 minute walk to West End or a $3 to $5 water taxi. Paradise has a restaurant right on the beach with daily specials of food and drink. A small mini mall with restaurants and shops is close along with a deli/liquor store. We enjoyed to the food every place we ate. Because of Covid, not all the restaurants are back open but they anticipate full openings when cruise ships start arriving. The beach is very nice as well as the entry into the water. Marvin is in charge of the beach loungers and umbrellas. He always made sure we were in the spot we wanted to be each day. He also would move our umbrella during the day to make sure we stayed in the shade. The security guard at the beach was very friendly and helpful all the time we were at the beach. At the end of the beach, Paradise Beach Hotel has a giant adirondack chair with I Love Roatan at the top that attracts beach walkers for photographs in and on the chair. There are many vendors that walk up and down the beach selling food, jewelry and swim shirts. They cannot walk right up to your chair because the hotel has it roped off for guest protection. We bought our swim shirts from Irwin who has a beach shop at the end of the hotel beach area under several umbrellas. He gave us good prices and got the colors and sizes that we needed.

My husband and I decided to stay in West Bay for the first half of our first visit to Roatan knowing it was the busier "hub" on the island relatively speaking. We stayed at Paradise in a Balcony Suite which was a one bedroom w/ kitchenette. Staff was without exception helpful and friendly. Jose at the restaurant was consistently a delight. Sabino and his crew (Jeremiah and Daniel) of the landscape team took great pride in his work and climbed a coconut tree to offer us the fruits of his labor. The front desk staff, security guards and housekeeping were all lovely and we really appreciated them all. The beds in the rooms were perfect for us. Overall a lovely stay. You'll want to be aware that the cruise ships dock and bus people in between 10-2 most weekdays and this creates quite a crowd along this stretch of beach. The hotels (including Paradise) offer day passes for them and this offers them access to a section of chaise lounges on the beach and by the pool. However, they do a great job of segmenting them on the beach so they don't infringe on the space for hotel guests and they are gone by 2 pm which leaves sunset and evenings for people staying in the hotels in West Bay and it becomes relatively chill. It is the busiest part of the island but they manage it well. The kitchenette isn't super well appointed and the furniture besides the bed isn't super comfortable. But when you're on an island, let's be honest it's tough to get all the luxuries to you! The onsite breakfast was excellent. We made lunch in our room but it helped to buy or bring zip locks bags and saran wrap for food storage. We'd stay here again.

The hotel has a wonderful pool, with several treed shady areas. The grounds keepers do an excellent job keeping the area perfect. The beach is the best in the island, with white fine sand, comfortable beach chairs, crystal clear aqua water, snorkelling very close to a good reef. The staff was excellent. Ivan at check in, helped us change our booking to a villa, Cristopher was wonderful at helping us get an island tour. (Would recommend getting Alex as a private guide) Dawson was really fun. Marco was great at the beach bar. The included breakfast was very good. Some of the food & drinks at the beach were expensive. Example, $23 ceviche! Saying this, we found other places to eat, but we did find the quality of food served at this hotel to be a little better. Over all, food on the island is just ok....not gourmet. The villa we had was very dated, worn furniture.. Beds are very comfortable. Air cons worked great. The new tower is modern, but across the alley from the pool area. I will probably not come back to Roatan, because it is a cruise stop. We were here for a week. 5 out of the 7 days had cruises in, up to 3 huge ships. The West Bay hotels welcome the cruise people, allowing them to use the pool and beach chairs. Our hotel keeps one side of their beach area for guests. Every few minutes, the beach hawkers are asking if you want to buy something. We felt we had to escape when it was cruise ship day🤨 I would suggest to try it out, book a villa, bring bug spray.

This might be the coolest New Year’s Eve party I have ever been to! We stayed at 2 hotels while my family and I were down in Roatan visiting. We flew in Dec 25th and left New Years Day. We switched to the Paradise Hotel halfway through the week (we often switch on trips just to try multiple locations out). This place was ADORABLE! It was much more rustic then the first hotel we stayed at, however it was much more charming too. It had a lot of character! The villa had multiple floors so that was great for privacy. Our travelers included my mom, brother and husband. So we took the top floor which had a bedroom and it’s own bathroom. My mom took the middle floor which had a bedroom, and a shared bathroom, and my brother stayed on the couch. They were kind enough to have an air-conditioner in each room as well (which we needed because it was very hot down there).
It was even more amazing that the cleaning people came by every day. Since the villas are right by the beach, we definitely tracked sand into the house daily, and we were constantly in bathing suits so the floors also got wet. So it was a really nice touch that the cleaning crew popped by every day to help things feel clean and fresh!
The best part of my stay however was the New Year’s Eve party! It was incredible! They truly went above and beyond any expectation we had, and during covid! They hung twinkly lights everywhere, and had incredible tables with ornate table cloths and centerpieces set up. And the entertainment for the evening was AMAZING! I’ve attached some pictures so you can see the fabulous evening. There were singers, dancers, people on stilts, fire dancers, etc.!! And they even had a woman with a dress that carried shots! It was almost Vegas style opulence. I was super impressed at how amazing the evening was. And to top it all off – they had fireworks on the beach!! Truly a once in a lifetime evening.

We took a day trip to the beautiful West Bay Beach in Roatan while cruising on Royal Caribbean's Rhapsody of the Seas. The beach was incredible; clean white sand, mild surf, no rocks or seaweed, and, fortunately, not overcrowded. We paid a small fee to use the beach which guaranteed us chairs and use of the beach and pool. On a side note, there were a number of vendors walking the beach, some more aggressive than others - however one man was selling delicious homemade tamales! The taxi price was negotiable (of course) and we found round trip transportation for $35.00 for both of us. Our driver, Fany (sorry that I don't remember what tour company she was with) got us there and back safely, unfortunately her English was limited. We would recommend this as a day trip excursion if you're in port.

Chose this hotel because of its location and reviews, west bay beach seemed to be best option and it certainly was. We arrived at 10 am from San Salvador, right after customs there’s a nice bar to get a cold one. Airport transfer was quick and smooth, although they didn’t have us on their list they solved everything quickly, check in was quick thanks to Fernanda at front desk, I wanted a room at the right “old side” but the room at the left new building was very comfortable (TV,A/C, small fridge, bottle water every day, hair dryer, safe box) nice bed and balcony. I thought about the AI package but at the time it seemed to pricey for my taste and ended up eating outside which proved to be the right option. You want to try Cayuco at the hotel; Roy’s seafood dish with king crab legs which was very tasteful but didn’t agree with my stomach for two days and the pizza, next to the right side of the hotel behind Bananarama you can get cheap food and drinks; to the left there’s the infinity restaurant which was very good too and you can take the water taxi to West End where you’ll find more options. When we rented the car, we bought wine, beer and snacks at Eldon’s at Coxen Hole which proved to be very convenient and cheap. The right side of the hotel is very nice with the mangroves, swimming pool, Cayuco restaurant and bar next to the pool. The new building with the roof pool where we were staying at was nice, but what I didn’t like was that its location was cut from the rest of the hotel. There was no coin laundry, spa, steam room, no inclusive water activities, no live entertainment at all (at Infinity and Mayan there was always something going on), no seat cushions at any of the restaurants, Cayuco restaurant didn’t have rain shutters (it rained cats and dogs the last two days) so we ended up eating next door at Infinity restaurant and beach umbrellas were plastic and not made of palm tree which for me was a horrible umbrella made of plastic bags. Most of staff if you asked a question didn't know or didn't want to answer. Parking was free.. We rented a car for two days at Ramirez rent a car which I recommend, thank you so much Clerissa, we drove to West end at night and day, French Key, Punta Gorda on Sunday to see the Garifunas (something you need to do)and kind of a round island trip which now I realize missed a part. We also hired a driver Mr. Carlos which I really recommend, if you need his phone # just ask me. We felt secure everywhere and every time being cautious. Hondurans where really nice and polite people and we did have a great time and hope to come back some day.

I use these platforms to get my information when booking a trip. I take many with a grain of salt. Here is mine, We booked with a group (Dawn Fairbanks Blues in Roatan) so we were there to hear music. We did not expect an over the top all inclusive, like 5 Star hotels in Mexico as they have millions of hotels and restaurants to accommodate the masses. This is a small beautiful island great beaches and water. Find MonoLoco and book a boat cruise with them. They are amazing and plenty of shade on board as well. You will find a few Catamaran out there but they have no or little shade on the top decks. The resort, over all what we kind of expected, they are not geared for all inclusive format. They have one restaurant that serves Buffet, Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. No other all inclusive options for food except between 4/5 you get a snack prepared for you at the beach bar, restaurant chooses the snack of the day. This get very tiring for a 2 week stay. You will dine elsewhere so prepare for extra expenses when travelling. The food was again also right down the middle for taste quality and preparedness. I am a traveller who likes great food on a destination so I may have bias. The food was always served cold, except the soup they had a decent soup pretty much everyday. The bar, yes the bar only one on the resort it is on the beach with great view of the water. Down fall they limit the all inclusive guests to local beer and spirits, anything other than that it’s a extra charged. Some of the staff will tell you some don’t and you get a massive bill at the end of the night because you ordered Pina Colada’s. When entering the beach from the bar get to know Corey the security he was awesome, he know the staff and beach vendors well. The rooms 3 stars we had a top floor (3 floor’s) no lift which we knew and is not a problem for us, would be for others. Positives from the top floor great views, breezes and you don’t get the sewage treatment plant smell that you get from the lower floor. The room had newer beds and a great balcony, our room attendant was amazing with cleaning, stocked our water and was attentive. The showers are small but no big deal. The staff, most were very good and helpful, a bit of Spanish goes along way. Please and thank you and a small tip also works. The neat things, Snorkeling off the beach is great at the end of the beach no boat needed. You can feed fish there as well, the hotel had fish food for one day which was neat, but then said they ran out for the remainder of our stay. The beach is beautiful along with the water. You can take water taxis from the peer to other parts of the island such as West End a day trip for sure! This is a small family resort they are trying there best but don’t set your expectations too high as the island is not geared for all inclusive experiences like other islands.

Spent a week here on a group dive trip so didn't spend too much time on property. All the staff were very friendly and accommodating. Due to COVID, everyone was masked up and hand sanitizer stations were setup throughout the property. The rooms were clean and comfortable with daily maid service. The shower’s water pressure was lacking but doable. The restaurant had good, fresh food and tried their upmost to accommodate our group despite being clearly short staffed at times. The servers were all very friendly, enthusiastic and attentive. They went above and beyond to the point that the security guard made sure there was coffee for the early risers who were ready for their java fix before the staff arrived in the morning. There’s a nice big pool and well maintained grounds. The property is right on the beach and very secure. I would definitely stay stay here again.

Worst Service imaginable. The servers took hours for a simple drink. The restaurant served cold meals and took them about 1 hour to serve simple plates. The rooms smelled horrible and they refused to give us clean towels. The servers only focused on US citizens since they only cared about the tip they received. I would recommend all other hotels around this area since at least they have a little courtesy for their costumers. Most importantly our friend group consisted about 50 people and we gave the hotel about 720,000 thousand lempiras which is about 30,000 USD in just room fare plus another bunch of money in the restaurant. They should be ashamed to have “Travelers choice” stickers from trip advisor around the whole hotel since they certainly are the worst hotel I’ve been to.

Please don’t let “oceanic” fool you. There are no ocean views at this hotel. Oceanic is the name of a building. While the rooms in this particular building are newer than others, your view will be the neighboring building and some trees. The hotel overall was okay but I won’t be returning. For starters the shower was way too small for one person much less me trying to shower off my small children. The bathroom was always full of water and sand because there is no place to wash your feet when returning from the beach besides your own bathroom. Sand everywhere! The cleaning was great, and breakfast included was also very yummy! We especially enjoyed the detail of water bottles being placed in the room daily, and a water oasis down the hall. What ultimately swayed me from this place was the fact that the “pool bar” advertised ( and a major selling point for us) no longer exists. The pool scene was super boring, and depending on the time of year you go, way too cold from the shade. Of course my kids usually love the pool so this was a huge let down. Lastly we felt the beach directly in front of the hotel to be unsafe for small kids. There are a lot of boats parked in front and moving through the area. We ended up never using the beach there and instead walked further down the beach to a less densely populated beach where our kids could snorkel safely.

Dear jordan374950, We would like to thank you for allowing us to host a wonderful vacation on our lovely island and for sharing your experience in regard to our hotel. We take each and every review with the utmost importance since we want to provide the best service. With this said, we would like to formally apologize for the mishaps presented during your stay with us. As you mentioned, our building is name Oceanic but we do not advertise it as a building with an ocean view. However, we understand it could be misconstrued so we would like to apologize. Sand everywhere is definitely a problem since it can be a bit uncomfortable, this is why there are small foot washing stations at each building’s entrance. just like we said, reading our reviews is extremely important for us, so we will be communicating this issue to the right departments in order to make these stations more noticeable to our guests. Your other observations will also be communicated to ensure an optimal experience in our little paradise. Thank you so much for your kind words about our cleaning crew, and our breakfast service. Please be sure that these comments will be shared with the staff to recognize their hard work. We appreciate you choosing Paradise Beach Hotel ad home for your amazing vacation in Roatan. Best regards, Paradise Beach Hotel.

I believe the rooms are no smoking but most of the rooms have balconies plus I remember multiple people smoking openly at the bar. We don’t smoke so I’m not 100% of their guidelines. I would recommend sitting on the corners of the restaurant or coordinate with the wind direction if you’re going to smoke to be mindful of others. Hope this helps!
There are two eating areas either the hotel restaurant which is part of the hotel and is mainly buffet or the beach bars that also do food. We were not all inclusive but had a buffet for lunch and moved around in the evening..However i would not think alcohol is included but check with the hotel.
There are more places to choose from in the West Bay area.
