Thirty family members from across the province met here for Thanksgiving. We had a wonderful experience! The accommodations are top notch and everyone enjoyed their meals at the restaurant. Barb and her staff were excellent to deal with and Barb went out of her way to accommodate us. The views were amazing and there was lots of outdoor space for children's play! Would highly recommend!

We were pleasantly surprised by the accommodations. The view is stunning and the cottage was clean, spacious, updated and full of nice little touches like robes, and jacuzzi tubs. The owner, Barb, is very friendly and welcoming. We
would definitely stay here again.

Awesome view, cozy and roomy, it was just like being at home. It had a Jacuzzi tub, full size fridge and stove and a kitchen table, a place to sit outside and a fire pit, we were only there for one night so didn’t get a chance to explore what was nearby. The cottage we had, had another cottage right beside it with an adjoining door so if you had a large group it would be great, There is a restaurant close by, the good was good and reasonably priced.

A group of 14 adults just returned from two nights staying at the chalet, rented an additional cabin, and a meal at Browne’s.

The staff wasn’t respectful of our privacy as they would be doing “routine checks”. Which was driving by the cabin staring in, and even at times walking around the premises. A better approach would be to at least ask if everything was ok and if we needed anything. Instead, it felt like we were being monitored. They never did ask how everything was and if we needed anything.

The store they have offers free ice to anyone staying within’ the accomodations.
We asked for ice one day only to be told that they only had ice for the restaurant. So we went and bought ice elsewhere.

I can’t speak for the cabin, but the chalet was dirty, flooring in the basement is horrible and needs to be replaced. There is no stove/oven which was mind blowing. The fridge isn’t very cold. Bedrooms were very nice. Property and view is beautiful.

Our second night’s stay we were outside having a fire in the fire pit provided (washer drum). We were approached by staff, during the fire, claiming our fire was too big. We are all responsible adults and would not have a “bonfire” on anyone’s property, which is what we were told upon departure. They told us that they thought about bringing a hose down to put out our fire. A washer drum only holds so much wood, we treated our stay as if it was our own property and we probably left it cleaner when we left then the condition upon our arrival.

We ate at Browne’s restaurant one night, which was a fantastic meal but highly priced. The ladies working there were very nice and polite.

We spent well over $2000 for two nights between the accommodations and food. Upon departure, the staff was very rude saying they were going to come down with hoses to put out our fire from the previous night. A poor attitude for just being handed thousands of dollars for a two night stay.

We will look elsewhere for accomodations for next years annual trip.

Here’s a picture of our “bonfire”

We stayed in Kyra, this past weekend; the staff at Browne’s were exceptional & great to deal with & we had a wonderful meal there. However, Giving the whole covid-19 pandemic I definitely would have expected things to be cleaner. When we arrived, it smelled very stale and old. The curtains were covered in dust, and there appeared to be mould/mildew on the walls. Beautiful view and scenery in the area, but they definitely need to up there cleaning protocols.

Not the best experience. The cottage smelled of mould . There was a note left on fridge to tip housekeeping. When we checked out , nothing was asked about our experience. Grounds was kept up, the food in restaurant was good . Needs a little care on upkeep of the cottages . At least the cottage we stayed in.

We stayed for a week at Blazing Horizon Cottages my husband, myself & 2 adult children. I am here to tell you the cottage was immaculate, the scenery spectacular & Barb & Cecil were so great. Friendly, & willing to look after what ever needs you had. If we go back to NFLD again we would stay here for sure. Oh & forgot to say restaurant on premises which was very convenient & good food & service.

We just returned from an absolutely wonderful weekend at Blazing Horizons Cottages. The ocean view from our cottage was amazing! We have travelled around the island this summer, staying at many cottages and Blazing Horizons was one of the best. Very clean with full kitchen, leather sofas, comfortable queen size beds with nice linens and everything that you need to make you feel "at home".
There is a restaurant on the property, Browns Restaurant, which serves a delicious home cooked menu. I'm diabetic, and I was happy to find that they even serve sugar free desserts, which on my travels has been difficult to find. The staff at the restaurant were so friendly and prices are very reasonable.
The owners, Barbara and Cecil, were very accommodating and made sure that we had everything that we needed. Cecil even delivered wood for us to enjoy a fire in our fire pit.
We hope to return to Blazing Horizons Cottage and Brown's Restaurant again.

We had a wonderful stay in 3 bedroom Kyle Cottage. It was perfect for 4 adults and 3 small children. Our grand children loved the hikes along the shore, large yard and fire pit. The cottage was very clean and beds comfortable. The whirlpool was greatly appreciated. The children did not want to go to a hotel after our stay. Thank you Barb and Cecil for taking such good care of our family. We would like to come back.

Just got back from these cabins/ restaurant. Called in June to make a reservation and was totd there was only one night available. Booked it and sent an email the end of June asking questions about the particular night I booked. Owner responded but did not say " just to let you know....you have to booked for two nights". The day before we went we got a message wondering why we had not checked in the day before. I called and thought it would get straightened out. What I got was a very rude response of how I had put her out since others wanted to book a cabin I didn't even book. No problem with the misunderstanding but among the worse customer service I have encountered! You will enjoy these cabins as long as you don't have any issues! After much discussion, we got a bit of a discount. Should gave us more with other issues such as very dirty BBQ with no brush to clean it...a brush there but no bristles on it! One bathroom completely shut down in a 4 bedroom. Could be fixed until Monday. Told story of how a child put something down the toilet.....not my issue! Not much good for us.... 41/2 star?? Not in my books. My main issue with all of this was the costumer service. If I was told...."Sorry about what happened, I will do whatever to make up for it." all would have been fine. Instead we got a rude response and every excuse you could think of as why she was right and we were wrong. Need to start remembering the customer is paying the bills and keeping your business running. To top it off we got overcharged for our lunch! $48 for two bowls of soup and a sandwich! Never again!
