Just back from a week long stay at Foster's. This was my 2nd time in the area. Although I was disappointed that the reef environment has suffered in West Bay, rendering the snorkelling less appealing, I was quite comfortable and at peace in the very rustic treehouse. As a previous reviewer commented, screen and curtain repair would be beneficial. The entrance door needs a curtain because sometimes curious people come up for a look in. I did love the way I could hear the rain and feel the sway of the wind. I spent plenty of time on the upper deck with its lovely view. It's a special kind of place. The beach area was not overly busy and kept tidy (although the one group of cruisers that went through left a mess). Bar and restaurant staff were gracious - Eddy is always around to help. All of the staff are eager to please. Mr. Foster showed me the site of his new restaurant to be at Key Hole - it looks to be lovely! Foster's is a low key small resort with a big heart that has been around for years and is showing some wear. A good choice if you are not expecting high end. Explore food options along the beach.

I had a great experience staying at Fosters in Roatan, Honduras. Their restaurant is great not to mention all the services they provided. Even welcomed us with a cocktail. I will definitely do this stay again. On west bay beach I ran into by A.D. (Adiel is his actual name) again from past trips. He was the best tour guide I’ve had in my several visits to the island. He cared about what we wanted to do and he gave us great recommendations for foods and other activities. He’s the guy to go to for snorkeling and fishing.

Fosters has a great location and we had the best view down the beach from our deck, the bed was comfortable, and the staff is responsive.

But… the reception and rooms are VERY tired and in need of an update. The taps in our shower were not really connected to the wall, the shower had very low pressure and eventually had NO water at all (the shower head was plugged), the air conditioner dripped so bad it kept us up at night (it also required a repair), we had a large cockroach in our room, the toilet needed at least 3 flushes for any solids to go down (sorry about the TMI), the “canal” beside our room was stagnant, full of scum, and smelled), our cutlery was rusty, and we were only told AFTER we had ordered our 4th jug of water at the end of our two-week stay that only the first jug is free and it’s $5USD for each additional jug, even they ended up only charging us for 1 after questioning them about it. We paid $185USD a night which isn’t cheap - we definitely paid for the view!

Beautiful view from our room unit 5. Establishment seemed shading and seemed to be nickel and dimeing you for everything. Poorly stocked kitchen suite and needs major maintenance. Couldn't get a receipt for our payment we had to make up front in US dollars cash. Took 3 days to get one after i hounded them over and over again. The maid accidentally broke a wine glass and they wanted us to pay $10 for it, I didn't want the money coming from the maid so we ended up paying them $5 for somthing that should'nt have cost us anything. They played very loud music two nights a week until 10:00 at night which could be heard in our room like we were sitting right there. Absolutely no sound proofing in the walls and windows. The only good thing about this place was the location. Our room was right on the beach with 2 decks where we could read in the shade and look over th ocean. That is the reason we booked th room in the first place. Another thing was the air conditioner had to run constantly with loud noise or the room would become very humid very fast. The floor tiles would actually start sweating and become slippery. Not sure if we will do it again because of,the other things.

We have stayed at Foster’s for the last seven years; of those, four have been extended stays 4-6 weeks. 2021 trip was not supposed to happen due to the pandemic but thanks to vaccines and good airfare, I was able to go solo for a week. So grateful and overwhelmed to get to see my beautiful Roatan and my Foster’s family healthy. This resort is not fancy but it is the one that offers you heartstopping views of West Bay. It is the place you want to stay if you want steps to the beach; owners and staff who treat you like family and an authentic island experience. Please come! Foster’s is ready to welcome you and show you their island paradise

I stayed at Fosters in Roatan for a week, to visit family. It was a beautiful hotel right on the beach. The staff is the best, so friendly and accommodating to every need. I liked to have an umbrella on the beach, after the first day I never had to ask for on.If you enjoy a drink it is brought right to you on the beach. The rooms are very spacious and have a refrigerator and microwave oven. Mr Fosster himself is on the grounds to make sure everything runs smooth. The bartenders are so friendly Jenacey was the best!!!!! I can't wait to come back. I can not say enough good No GREAT THINGS about Fosters Resort!

I recently stayed at one of the Foster Resort properties at West End, Roatan. What a fantastic experience! I have visited many islands and resorts and also lived in the Caribbean, but Fosters Resort, multiple properties, staff, food/drinks and accomodations were all Top Quality. The setting is absolutely stunning. The staff were very helpful and informative about the island, history, culture and how to maximize your vacation time, no matter what you want to do...also very affordable. I recommend 💯%. Ed Riley

I lived in the Foster's for about a week and then a day more because of a storm. It's a really nice place compared to everything I've seen in and around Honduras and is definitely a relatively cheap medium luxury place. The service is really nice. However I wouldn't recommend it for "beachdwellers" as this end of the beach can get really crowded. The treehouse is a great place for adventure style living in a great place and would probably also serve well as a "romantic hideaway".

Fosters Roatan was an absolutely delightful place to spend our honeymoon! My husband and I were so impressed with the staff and location! It was perfect for us! It is situated on one of the most beautiful beaches in Honduras, the rooms were clean and there are delicious restaurants very close. It is perfect for the adrenaline junkie (lots of excursions to choose from!) in all of us or someone seeking a calm and relaxing environment by the water. Gregory Feldman was the best tour guide I have ever had the pleasure of touring with. He was so attentive to what we needed and took us to beautiful destinations to snorkel. While snorkeling with Gregory I found a diamond ring for my husband in the sand! He provided us with the experience of a lifetime! Please book with him you will not regret it! He made us feel so comfortable and welcome. We hired a local gentleman named Alejandro to take us around the city and he was extremely professional and safe! He ensured we felt safe and comfortable at all times. He offered great information about the island! Very good man! We loved it so much we are going back in 6 months!

On ocean with spectacular views, mini kitchenette, filter water jug in room. Free pool. & Beach chairs on beach for use. Dec 2023 is my 2nd visit to Roatán. I stayed in bungalow #4 in Sept 2022. Fosters West Bay has amazing view Bungalows right on the ocean within walking distance to many restaurants and activities! & you can literally just walk right into the ocean and snorkel! I think you might be better served to go to West End. Everything is cheaper and less touristy. The reef is straight out from the round-a-bout as you come in to town. Snorkel gear is available at the reef information center for about 10.00, all day. Everything in West End is avail. Food and booze is cheaper and the beach is nice; albeit, not as long as West Bay.
