The Radisson Blu Zaffron Resort in Santorini garners high marks for its impeccable cleanliness and stylish modern atmosphere, though some find the pool music a bit overbearing. Guests laud the hotel's well-appointed amenities and prime location near the beach and local hotspots. While the staff is generally celebrated for their friendliness and efficiency, a few guests have noted slow service at the pool bar. Opinions on the rooms vary, with some appreciating the luxury and upgrades but others pointing out cramped quarters and maintenance issues. Travelers are split on the hotel's value; some question the pricey extras, while others appreciate the half board option.

Upon arriving at the resort a lovely gent took our luggage as soon as we arrived and took it to the lobby for us. At check in your required to pay the resort fee and then they also ask for a holiday amount (for those who like to be prepared for a 7 night stay it was €350) the hotel is beautiful it's very fresh and clean and the pool area is the best I've been too! We had a room with private pool and it was perfect when we arrived we did mention it would be better to be private for what you pay but about 3 days into the stay Reed was then put up to make it private so seems some of the finishing touches are still being completed. I read a review regarding the female receptionist and would agree she is not the most welcoming to be front of house! We got engaged during our stay and it seemed there were many honeymooners staying too so a friendly face makes all the difference to stay. The hotel is perfectly located for the beach, bus and bars etc and the hotel has two restaurants on site too. The in room facilities were fab! Everything you could need are provided including hairdryer and straightners. Breakfast had plenty of choice for buffet and we found out after you can also order other options although we were never told or offered these options. The reason I gave the hotel 4 instead of 5 was due to the entirety of our stay having long periods of having no lights working I the room at all! The first time we told them they said oh it will be they way you put the key in .... erm no we explained you can hear the electric cutting out but that was that. We didn't really care as most of the time it happened in the day when we didn't need the lights but one night it wasn't working in the evening and the same person came out and realised what we said originally was right so had to sort the fuse box etc whilst we were in there. That fix lasted all of half a day and it started happening again at this point I had just got engaged and was in a happy bubble of not caring but would of been annoyed it we had longer left to stay. Only other minor issue was that a socket on our balcony was in constant use by maintenance so when enjoying our private pool did have constant men coming to utilise the plug socket! All in all it was a lovely stay and santorini is very beautiful! We got a taxi to Oia which was €42 each way or you can get two buses. Fresh towels are provided each day and the cleaners are all friendly and really efficient!

We had a lovely stay in this hotel. It was in a great location and beautifully decorated.
Pros:
Great location for the beach, restaurant and bus service
Lovely breakfast (make sure you ask to see the menu to see what you can order as this isn't offered)
Comfortable sun beds
Upgraded for a hot tub ROOM nd would recommend the upgrade
The cleaning products the housekeepers use smells AMAZING
Bed is very comfortable and black out curtains/door helps a perfect night sleep.
Cons:
The swimming pool stained 3 of my bikinis orange. Pretty gutted and hotel staff didn't seem bothered when we told them. Just told me to keep wearing the stained ones to prevent others getting stained.
There isn't enough sun loungers around the pool so had to be out at 9am to get one.
Lack of information in the room (eg about breakfast times, check out, local information etc)
I personally felt masks should be worn for the buffet breakfast (especially with recent covid cases at the hotel). This was not encouraged by staff and no signs so guests did not use masks.

My friend and I stayed at the Zaffron Resort from 14 Aug to 19 Aug 2021 and absolutely loved our stay. We can honestly say (having travelled around the world and stayed at a million nice hotels) that this room was worth every single euro. The service was impeccable, and the pool connected to our room was fantastic. Loved the Korres products in the bathroom, and the friendliness of the staff at the reception. I also needed a silent space for a very crucial work meeting and this was arranged for me at no cost - thank you! We would like to specifically thank Ioanna, Elli and Konstantina for their super friendly service and help with anything we needed.

The only constructive feedback we would like to provide has to do with how the breakfast was organized. It was never ready at 7am (although 7-11am are quoted as the breakfast hours) and the service was very slow (e.g. we often had to ask for coffee, water or juice three times before it actually got delivered). The staff was very friendly, however we felt that considering the number of guests staying at the resort the breakfast shift was severely understaffed. Other than that, we would 100% recommend this resort.

I’ve just spent a wonderful few days at Radisson Blu Zaffron Resort.

The warm welcome on arrival from Joanna set the tone for the entire stay

All staff at the resort were extremely friendly , courteous and professional.

The Radisson Blu Zaffron is brand new and peacefully located about two minutes walk from Kamari’s waterfront where there was a good selection of restaurants and bars.

The hotel’s public areas have been conceived with guest comfort in mind. There are two lovely pools surrounded by comfortable sun beds.

The restaurant where an excellent breakfast is served is spacious and stylish with tables inside and out.

There is a small gym and spa which is perfectly adequate.

The guest rooms are stylish and beautifully designed with a nod to the architecture of the island. They are cool and peaceful and very well equipped with eco friendly toiletries , good quality linen and luxury towels and bathrobes. There’s also a Nespresso machine as well as a kettle. Housekeeping were very attentive replenishing everything daily.

The one thing that stands out is the staff , particularly at reception who were all good humoured and just incredibly helpful.

The location is one of the best on the island, one block back from the broad walk of Kamari beach. Whilst Thira and Oia are stunning they are overcrowded; nice to visit but wouldn’t want to stay there!

I really can’t fault this hotel and I would certainly recommend it and hope to return .

There are lots of good things about the hotel. The rooms are nicely designed (though rather dark), the hotel is brand new and so everything is in mint condition. We had a room with a private pool which was great. There are many rooms with this feature which seems to be one of the main selling points of the hotel. The food was good and the catering staff were particularly friendly. The Reception staff were also lovely, as were the cleaners.
Unfortunately the overall dining experience was chaotic. There were a couple of helpful waiters but it felt like hard work trying to get table service. Some staff would studiously avoid eye contact. On one occasion we failed to get any service at all and went without drinks for the whole meal. I don't know why the service was so bad - sometimes there were very few people eating in the restaurant so there was no excuse.
Also this is a hotel that doesn't believe in silence - the dining experience is accompanied by continuous background music and the bar starts playing music at 10am.
Personally I like a hotel with a sense of space - and ideally a view. This is very much absent here. The main public area is taken up by the swimming pools and sun loungers packed in like sardines. There is barely any space between or behind them. Other than the dining area and a tiny bar and terrace area there is no other space to relax in. The emphasis is on the private outdoor areas with the rooms and this comes at the expense of more public space. It's an interesting concept but not to my taste. The mountain backdrop that could have been more of a feature is largely blocked by buildings.
I did wonder about going to Santorini and not staying somewhere on the caldera edge. In retrospect I would have paid more attention to location as I think it is really important on this island in particular. It was a missed opportunity, though we did get a very good deal staying at the Radisson and it was very comfortable.

We have just ended a week here and, as the week has gone on, the niggles become more apparent as the initial 5* lights dim.

First the positives - breakfast is great with lots of choice - fruit, pastries, bread, cheese, smoked salmon along with a hot buffet (which I can’t comment on) but everything I had was lovely.

On an evening the pool/restaurant area looks stunning all lit up.

There are other positives but for us the negatives outweigh. I think it’s a hotel you would only ever visit once because you’d be sure there are better out there for the same or less money.

The room was called a “deluxe double room with balcony”. A quick translation to mean “absolutely tiny with zero storage space” There are drawers at the side of the bed which can’t be opened due to the bedside table. There are 6 coat hangers for 2 people for one weeks stay and 3 tiny drawers. Forget trying to both walk around the bed at the same time - no chance. We have lived out of our suitcase for the week.

Also forget trying to get 2 coffees at breakfast with a teaspoon. This sounds petty and we joked about it all week. Maybe this will be the morning where we manage it but alas it wasn’t to be. The staff at breakfast are all young kids with no direction. They need allocated tables to be able to do the job. They are lovely but hopeless at service and have nobody showing them the way.

By far our biggest gripe was the inability to get two sun beds together in the shade, either at the pool or the beach. They are set up in such a way that the beds, table and parasol cannot be moved at all. This is purely for aesthetics. This means one bed (if not both) are always in the sun. As a result my legs are burnt and my husband is currently sat on a concrete step to try and get out of the sun. The term style over substance was made for this hotel.

In fairness to the hotel we had a constant noise in our room coming from the pool below for the first 3 nights. I went to reception one night at midnight (another lady was there at the same time complaining about the same thing but from the other side of the hotel) and the next night it had gone which was amazing. It was stopping us sleep as we are both light sleepers.

The rooms were very quiet and you couldn’t hear neighbours at all if they were in their rooms.

The hotel is fully booked, it’s still a relatively new hotel but has the teething problems of a brand new one. I would be interested to see what the occupancy is next year and whether any are returning guests. I suspect not.

We will definitely come back to Santorini as we’ve loved it but will try another hotel.

Just returned from a wonderful week at this fabulous hotel. From the moment we arrived, we had the most exceptional care & attention from all of the staff - nothing was too much trouble.
The Hotel is recently opened with many beautiful design features - some requiring tweaks & improvements, however these are known to management, with plans to address these in the upcoming closure period.
Our poolside room was quirky & comfortable with excellent twice daily housekeeping from friendly, hardworking maids replenishing bottled water, Nespresso capsules, beautiful linens and Korres toiletries too.
Food is of the highest quality with varied options each evening & whilst some may deem portion sizes as small, you'd obligingly be served whatever increased amount you asked for, from the served buffet. Restaurant staff are very attentive - special mention to Manuel for his expert wine recommendations.
The pool area is relaxing with comfortable loungers, although space isn't at a premium. We got loungers each day and the pool is pleasantly heated.
We needed medical attention during our stay & must praise the GM, Mr Papadakis and Eleni, who both personally went above & beyond to support us on very many levels. Much appreciation & sincere thanks for everything you did for us.
We will be back! The management & entire team are to be extremely highly commended. The majority of reviews here being rightfully positive & reflective of the wonderful experience at Zaffron Radisson Blu.

Advertised as adults only, there were a few well behaved children. The stylish bedrooms seemed odd having a toilet, sink and shower separate but this was a good practical format. Lights for the beds were in a impractical position to read. I was expecting more of a variety of Greek dishes and local wines. However these minor things were my only criticism.
The hotel is very stylish and clean but the real praise should go to the hard working friendly staff, whom are not only attentive but informative. Thanks to Dimitrius & Erina especially. The restaurant manger kindly gave our friends champagne for their special celebration, when he found out about it. Delicious food and breakfast was a feast with homemade marmalade
Good location near the beach, bars and shops (The Secret Rooms for unusual authentic clothing). Handy cut through from hotel to bus stop- masks still required on buses.

Overall it was unbelievable and waking round Kamari and the rest of the island I think it’s amazing value for money for what you get and compared to the other hotels in Kamari so clean and contemporary. The other hotels are just slightly more rustic and dated, so it depends what you’re wanting.

Breakfast had a limit menu but the staff were more than happy to whip something up - food was never cold but if mornings were a little windy you have to remember you are sat outside at most venues so the wind does take the heat a bit.

The pool was gorgeous, our room had a double personal sunbed so it meant there wasn’t a fight for a sunbed for any rooms located on the ground floors as they all had them. Okay the sun moves and by 2pm it was off our personal sunbed. There is a sign in the room asking for sunbeds not to be reserved with towels ect but the hotel is filled with British and Germans so let’s be honest no one was ever going to listen, it’s a shame as beds were just empty until late afternoon - that’s no fault of the hotel though.

Our room, oh my goodness I’m taking inspiration to change my house it’s simple yet stunning - black features and stone wow. Cleanliness is impeccable, the maids come 3 times a day, why and to do what I’m not sure but there were always fresh towels and slippers and never a spec of dust.

We used the gym facilities which was easy enough to book and there was good availability we booked the day before of two days ahead, the covid rules are a bit confusing in there but I mean you’re at the gym: say good morning to the lady, do your workout, and carry on with your day.

Staff can’t do enough for you and are mostly friendly you have the odd few that may just be having an off day but it wasn’t like they were rude everyday or anything they were just busy and you could see that.

I would go back tomorrow, I did check but there was no availability for a while and rightfully so!

We were the very first guests of the season on a half board basis. On arrival asked to come back at 2pm to check in, being the very first guests of the season an empty hotel with over 100 empty rooms had to wait until 2pm thankful it was 1.30pm so only 30 mins to wait at an outside area. The design of the hotel is very beautiful chic and modern but just not practical as it rained the first 2 days of our holiday which made dining outside quite miserable sitting in coats with rain dripping on peoples plates some guests gave up and retired to their rooms, whilst a perfectly dry covered restaurant upstairs remained empty of guests on both rainy cold evenings? Cant change the weather but sure can adapt to make guests dining experience more enjoyable. Apart from these few issues the hotel is fantastic, all staff were amazing and attentive, breakfast was plentiful with a superb la carte breakfast menu on offer. Evening meals were well presented ( menu choices were a little repetative over 7 days with mains consisting of pasta fish or veal, even though we had paid half board package we felt the need to dine elsewhere on one occasion just to experience some authentic greek cuisine and enjoy a bottle of fine wine at half the price of the hotels wine list. I am finding writing this review difficult as everything else was absolutely superb, the cleanliness, product quality of the hotel/rooms and helpful attentive staff deserve recognition. This is a constructive review as we would not hesitate to stay again at this beautiful hotel just not in april or october when the weather is unpredictable and the dining remains outdoors only.
