Nestled near the harbor and beaches, Valentin Star Menorca comes highly recommended for its stellar location, with easy access to local dining and transport. While some guests feel a refresh of the traditional decor could be beneficial, the vibrant atmosphere and evening entertainment are often celebrated. The hotel's immaculate cleanliness and tranquil environment are frequently commended, as are the well-maintained amenities like the pristine pool and varied dining options. Although additional charges and the cost of drinks have been noted, many visitors are impressed by the attentive service that adds a personal touch to their stay.

We are still here at the Valentin Star enjoying the sunshine and relaxing in this fabulous hotel.
You really feel like it is a luxury adults hotel.
We were offered fresh cold towels and cold water on arrival which were needed after a 45 min journey with our masks on.
We were greeted by very friendly and attentive staff and were helped to our room.
The rooms are lovely, very clean and just what you need for your stay. Great aircon and celling fan too. There is also a fridge to keep your drinks chilled.
We are in a ground floor room with a pool view and easy access to the pool area via the sliding doors.
The lagoon pool is beautiful, extremely clean and huge!
Plenty of sun loungers too. There are some pool activities during the day (aerobics/volleyball) which is nice whether you want to join in or just watch. There's no pressure to join in.
There's a lovely pool bar which serves drinks and food for lunch. They also come around with little canapés at lunchtime which is a nice bonus.
The breakfast buffet has lots of different choices, full english, cereals, toast, fresh fruit, yoghurt and freshly made pancakes and omelettes.
The location is right on the marina where there are many fantastic restaurants and the restaurant in the hotel is amazing too! We don't want to leave!
We have actually just booked again today for June 2022!

We absolutely loved this hotel. The rooms are very spacious and the beds huge and very comfortable. It is a bit dated but it honestly doesn't matter at all. The rooms are lovely and the bathroom was fine.

The hotel is located in the harbour and surrounded by lots of restaurants and a few bars. We ate out a fair bit but only because we like going out for a walk and a meal with table service. That said, the food in the hotel restaurant is outstanding. The choice and quality of the food is incredible and was actually better quality than the restaurants we went out to! The food in the snack bar was also very good with lots of choice. The portions are big so we sometimes shared and there was plenty.

For us the big bonus was that there are loads of sunbeds whatever time you go to the pool. We never had any problem getting beds and had choice of where to sit too. Some people have said that it is a negative because the beds are close together but we went in July and the benefit of having beds available more than makes up for that. Plus, there were always beds away from other people if you wanted them so it really wasn't an issue for us at all.

The hotel is adults only and so is quiet, which we like. The evening entertainment was ok. It is very typical hotel entertainment but probably a bit better than the average.

You can charge drinks and food to your room card and this was really convenient and saved us having to carry cash in the day. However, the food and particularly drinks are expensive so that bill can really add up!

Cala'n Bosch is not our favourite resort on Menorca and we were glad to be where we were on the harbour. Elsewhere it really is just villas and hotels with the vast majority of bars etc around the harbour area. We went on the land train to see what else there was around but there really wasn't much at all. We would go back to the Valentin Star, we loved it, but wouldn't want to stay anywhere else in this resort, it is a bit soulless.
Great hotel, highly recommended.

We visited the Valentin Star as a Tui package holiday towards the end of Menorca's summer season. This seems an ideal time to go as it wasn't overly busy, but very hot and sunny, and with only 1 day of rain.
It is fair to say this is the best 'sunny/beach' holiday we have ever had.

Let's just get the one negative out the way, this being the 'thorny' issue of an additional government tax which has to be paid directly to the hotel. Tui thinks it a good idea to put this in 'the small print' instead of just being honest upfront. From recollection it is around 50 euros per room per week (cheaper for the second week).
It is unfair on the hotel staff to have to break the bad news to tour operator guests.

As far as value for money goes, this hotel ticks all the box's. Yes, it needs a little updating, but this was of no concern to us. We decided to upgrade our room to a pool view for an additional 20euros per night. This was OUR choice and were in no way pressurised to do so.
We did have a small issue with a leak in our room, but this was swiftly resolved satisfactorily. The rooms are nicely designed, and the twin beds can be converted to a double (based on our experience). Our room had a bath and overhang shower.

It was pleasing that everyone seemed to obey the 'no sunbed reservation' rule, and that no towels seemed to appear until after 0900 which is reasonable.

The buffet style restaurant has a fantastic selection of food for both breakfast and evening meals, so we would definitely recommend half board. Tap water is not safe to drink, so bottled water has to be purchased.

Every single member of staff was welcoming, friendly, and nothing was ever too much trouble.
We would like to say a special thank you to Keller (reception), Lidia (entertainment) and one of the drink waiters from Bulgaria (sorry, forgotten his name), for their outstanding services.
Lidia was so enthusiastic to promote the likes of volleyball and aqua swim, and we all had such a laugh. Her enthusiasm and happy smile is so infectious and truly motivational. I am now somewhat of an expert in paddleboarding thanks to her (ok, so the word 'expert' may not be entirely truthful!!)

There are 2 beaches nearby, and 2 sunbeds and a parasol cost 20 euros per day. Drinking water can be purchased from the local supermarket and is very cheap.

This has been the perfect holiday, and we shall definitely return. Thank you to everyone for making it so special.
It truly was sensational, and other then the tax which shouldn't even be the hotel's problem, we cannot fault anything.

As said in other reviews the hotel is spotless aimed at the older generation or couples like us that just want to escape kids and work for a chill week . Bedrooms were clean and good standard they do provide bathrobes and slippers also toiletries son not really a need to take lots. Good size bathroom and spacious bed.

The is a safe in the room costing €21 and a €10 deposit for the key.

Our room was on the ground floor with not much view except a small patio and a grasses area in front but it’s much quieter than a pool view and more private.

Breakfast is lovely fresh omelettes or pancakes cooked in front of you with an array of pastries and fresh fruits.

We stayed bed and breakfast so we could explore the restaurants and bars, there is a lot to chose from can recommend THE STEAKHOUSE near to the hotel and ON EGIN amazing steaks and desserts.
Also La Fontana was ideal for lunch but but busy at night with families . The food is on average 25 euro for a good meal and drinks aren’t cheap but they are well worth it
A couple could easily spend 800-1000euro a week.

The hotel have a jacuzzi pool near the bar and seems to be where the sun spends most the time if it’s cooler out they heat it up, and the large pool is clean and peaceful but freezing cold.
Lots of loungers including Balinese beds.
There is entertainment on every night although we only saw the one act they were very popular.
Will definitely return it was beautiful and the staff are so helpful and pleasant.
Will only stay in adults only from now on !!!
If you want nightlife and parties it’s not for you !

There is apparently a dress code in the restaurant (which is a very good idea provided it applies to everyone) where men have to wear trousers and not shorts. The dress code does not appear to apply to some of the women who looked like they had just come back from the pool. It is not fair for men to wear long trousers and women can wear very little. We were short changed on two occasions in the restaurant when paying for our drinks. The price of the drinks are very high in comparison to the bars in the surrounding area. Most of the staff are a credit to the hotel with the exception of the "entertainment team" who are friendly if you are a member of their clique but ignore you if you are not. The evening entertainment does not start until 9.30pm and goes on past midnight. There are plenty of sunbeds around the pool and the area is kept spotless. The rooms are kept very clean and towels changed regularly. The headboard has an edge on it which makes it uncomfortable when sitting in bed watching the television.

My wife and I have just returned from this excellent hotel and will be returning. Hotel and rooms are very clean, all staff polite and (it seems) well motivated.

We stayed half board which was a change for us as usually we prefer to visit different restaurants of an evening. Our choice though turned out to be the correct one. Restaurant food is buffet style and is excellent quality with lots of choices both at breakfast and dinner. (If you cant find anything to eat here you will never find anything anywhere )There is a policy in place that men wear trousers at evening meal. We fully agreed with this policy.

Hotel decor is a little bit dated but very well maintained. Rooms are large with air conditioning included in the price. We think the safe should be included too but there’s an additional charge for this.

Entertainment was good with a special mention for Lydia who works so hard to entertain the guests.

Age group when we were there was mainly 50 - 70yrs approx, although many younger couples around 30ish started to arrive during our second week - they appeared to be mainly Spanish.

Hotel is situated right on the harbour, and there are many restaurants and supermarkets within easy walking. Beach is an easy walk, has fine sand and gentle slopes into the sea.

We had exceptional weather, the temperature never dropped below 30 even at night time and the humidity was unbearable at times. Hotel and rooms were nice and cool though if you needed to escape.

Our only criticisms are: The extra charge for people to eat on the outside terrace at evening meal, and the pricing at the pool bar. Many people who we spoke with were disappointed with this too, as a result we and others did not use these services. The hotel owners should consider reducing the pool bar pricing as we think it would actually work in their favour seeing as they would sell more food and drink.

Not a very good selection of alcohol free drinks for those of who are unable to consume alcohol.

Just returned from out first visit to Valentin Star Hotel. Great location right in the centre of Calen Bosch next to marina. Excellent choice of food at both breakfast & dinner, the hotel charge to eat outside (10 euros per table) & any drinks served will be charged to room. Pool bar also operates the same policy or you can pay cash here. Rooms are comfortable with small fridge & large flat screen tv, only one English channel ( BBC world news). Found the staff to be very helpful & friendly and all areas spotlessly clean. Supermarket & other bars /restaurants also close. Beach 5 minutes walk.

Adults only 4* hotel.
Good size room with sofa chair, table, fridge,tv, tea and coffee facilities. Comfortable bed. Cleaned and tidied efficiently every day. Rooms are on two floors surrounding the pool. Odd numbers face street, even numbers face pool. Best location even numbers on 2nd floors all have balconies facing pool.
Large lagoon pool with plenty of sun beds and parasols. There is also a jacuzzi at one end of the pool side. As only 2 floors high the sun shines on all the pool all the day. Towels are issued at start with 1 euro charge for replacing.
Restaurant has extensive choices of quality food including many vegetarian and gluten free selections all suitably marked.
All the staff are friendly and efficient.
Well recommended
Susan

Booked at the last minute and was very impressed by the professionalism, friendliness and hard work by ALL the staff at this establishment.
The upsides, which far exceed the downsides:-
Immaculately maintained pool area.
A wide ranging and plentiful buffet with fresh fish and meat cooked for you in the evening and a good selection of eggs, pancakes, etc. at breakfast.
Excellent covid adherence throughout.
Nicely presented drinks at the various bars at prices similar to UK but larger measures.
Evening entertainment, which I would tend to enjoy was pretty good, particularly Nathan Daniels.
It was good to be greeted by the Maitre d' in the evening and the hotel manager was present on a number of occasions too.
Stefan and the pool aerobics lady were great fun and really enjoyed the one or two activities which we took part in.
The downsides are minor :-
Our poolside room with large terrace was spacious and kept beautifully clean. Loved the comfortable pillows. However, the bathroom door was warped at the bottom and we couldn't shut it. Awkward when you need privacy. We were offered an alternative room but a pain when you have unpacked.
Breakfast and evening meal commence at 8. Maybe a little late for some.
We would have liked a glass of wine with our meal but has to be a bottle.
The marina is very pretty and full of small craft. There are one or two decent shops and supermarkets a step away. However, the restaurants and bars weren't really our thing.
We caught the bus (2 euro one way) into Ciutadella which is beautiful and had two excellent evening meals, drinks and a stroll. Gorgeous place.
Taxis are a bit hard to come by at the hotel so take the bus and maybe taxi back depending on the hour.
In summary, I came back much happier and far more relaxed than when I went. Sign of a great holiday.
Thank you to the Valentin Star and ALL of your staff. You are superstars!!

We stayed at the Valentin Star in August. I would highly recommend this hotel and say it is the best hotel we have ever stayed in. The location of the hotel is on the Marina, so there is lots of restaurants & bars to choose from. There are two lovely beaches within walking distance, a bus service that takes you to Ciutadella, which is definately worth a visit and a Light house where you can have a drink and watch the sunset.
The hotel staff were all very friendly, the rooms are big and have air conditioning, a fridge, large bathroom and were cleaned daily. The pool and large jacuzzi is amazing with plenty of sun loungers, so you were always able to get a bed at anytime of the day. We didn't have dinner at the hotel but if it was anything like the breakfast you will be overwhelmed by how much there is to choose from. Even the option of a Champagne and caviar breakfast ! The hotel is very peaceful, relaxing and there was a lovely friendly atmosphere with the other guests staying at the hotel. There is the option to play a few fun pool games or join in with aqua aerobics & archery. The entertainment in the evening was good although I was surprised that this was open to adults & children who were not staying at the hotel. It was my Husbands birthday whilst we were on holiday and a bottle of bubbly was delivered to our room, which was a very nice touch and most appreciated as we hadn't mentioned this to the hotel. There is a toilet and shower room around the pool which is great if you have a late flight home, as you need to check out of your room by 12 noon on the last day. The hotel will also take care of your luggage. so you can continue to enjoy your holiday right up to the last minute. This hotel is rated a 4 star but I would give it a 5 and we will definately be returning again. Infact many of the guests staying at the hotel said they keep coming back to this hotel on a regular basis. Which I think speaks for its self!
Thank you Valentin Star for a wonderful holiday.

The drinks package is 30 euros a day / 25 euros if you do 3 consecutive days. 11am - 6pm, so ideal if you’re having a pool day. It includes everything from bottled water, coffee, beers, wine and cocktails. The drinks are excellent quality / the wine we were drinking was 25 euros a bottle. You also get 10% off your lunch bill which again the food was fantastic plus your towel change / we changed ours twice on the day. I would recommended such a good idea and have already booked to go back next year
