Amazing place! Fuego is perfect for a few days in Santa Teresa, very central, close to beach access, a 100 meters away from the busy main street, so totally silent and no dust. The place is charming with its nice pool and luxury vegetation. Barbara, the owner, is very welcoming and accommodating. Loved everything ❤️

Amazing location. At the north end and the best location for beach and quieter shops and restaurants. We walked the whole beach and the absolute best place was directly down from the lodge. Easy and quick walk to beach. Pool was so nice to come back to and sit around. Great space for the four of us. Breakfasts included made our mornings so much easier Staff was incredible Barabara and Roy were so helpful from start to finish. Roy even showed us a great route to take the ATVs to a secret waterfall. Helped arrange surf lesson and generally made us feel like family. We loved Fuego lodge and will recommend to anyone we know. Santa Teresa is a magical place and Fuego made it even more so

We had a great time at Fuego Lodge! A beautiful little nature oasis in the middle of town with nice rooms, a beautiful pool and yoga hut. Breakfast is included and you can use the pool and yoga area anytime. Most notably, the staff was so lovely and helpful. We stayed in the penthouse, which is extremely comfortable and secluded and includes a private balcony.

Set in beautiful gardens up a side road (with parking), this lodge is brilliantly located (if you have a car) to explore the beaches and villages of the southern Nicoya area. Our room was right opposite the warm pool, with loungers and tables and chairs. There was plenty of storage space for clothes, a fridge, kettle and coffee maker. The bed and pillows were comfortable and we slept well. Yes, there is a new apartment being built over the road, but the work is being done during the day and mostly by hand (it’s not like a massive construction site on the Costa del Sol!) and it did not bother us at all. The room stayed cool (with the A/C) and almost completely bug free (the door fitted really well). We enjoyed watching squirrels and humming birds just outside our room (No. 5 a quadruple room with two double beds). The breakfast choices were all delicious (we tried them all!) and the staff were friendly and helpful. Special thanks go to Ania, who gave excellent advice about our journeys to and from the lodge and who recommended some fantastic restaurants. The yoga deck was an added bonus, with daily classes; Carlotta’s flow in particular, was Devine.

We went to Fuego lodge for a drop in dance class with Nicolina, and she is a fantastic teacher! My boyfriend and I took class with her and she catered the experience exactly to fit our needs. She taught us the basics for bachata and salsa, and gave us specific feedback for how we could improve. My man was new to Latin dance, and by the end of the session he had learned about 10 moves and was keeping the beat. I’ve had more experience, and she taught me beautiful styling tips. She also taught us about the history and culture behind the moves, and explained the unique ways that different countries style their dancing- very interesting! Nicolina has incredible energy- so lively, fun charismatic, and attentive. Whether you are a beginner or advanced dancer, or a couple of both levels, we would definitely recommend you take class with Nicolina!

Very nice lodge. Very attractively priced for what they offer. Owner is very friendly and helpful. Offer vegan breakfast (rice & beans with fruit & bread). Pool area was almost always nearly empty. Location is excellent - a little bit away from the main street so somewhat quiet but very central and close to beach.

Lovely hotel, great location, delicious breakfast, great rooms, super clean and tranquil. The beautiful pool area felt like a premium experience on a reasonable budget. Staff were really helpful when it came to arranging excursions and airport shuttles.

My one complaint is that there are no reception staff at night and after 9pm you need a key code to get back in. This wouldn’t be an issue except that one night we got back after a power cut earlier in the evening and the keypad had stopped working even after the power came on. We were locked out of the hotel and it was doubly stressful as it was our last night and we were due to be picked up at 6:30am to be taken to the airport. So all our belongings, including passports, were trapped inside and we were trapped outside. We called the only contact number we had for any hotel staff and there was no answer - and it was only about 9:30, not the middle of the night. In the end I managed to climb into the hotel by scaling the 9 foot door in the perimeter wall and crawling through a small gap in the top of it, and letting my boyfriend in from the inside. However if this happened to a party that didn’t contain someone agile enough to climb the gate and small enough to fit through the gap above the door, it could have resulted in a night sleeping on the beach and a very expensive, long journey back to the UK if we’d missed our flight.

I only bring this up so that the hotel are aware of it and can come up with a solution to the problem (maybe an emergency number that guests can call outside of reception hours) as it was an otherwise perfect stay!

This charming and absolutely stunning property is a wonderful place to stay. Off the beaten path and easy access to great dining and the beach. The owners are kind and take care to ensure a pleasant stay. The yoga Shala is breathtaking and the tropical plantings make for a peaceful view. Our family enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend!

Barbara and her husband could not have been nicer and take such great pride in their hotel. I arrived very late but Barbara took care of everything. She was always a phone call away for anything I needed.

I loved my room that overlooked the pool. The room was very clean (daily cleaning service). Having a kettle, coffee, dishes, TV and AC were all nice touches. The beds were super comfortable and really enjoyed the daily yoga classes (during the week). The pool is a nice size and welcoming on a hot day. I was even able to get my laundry done for a small fee.

Santa Teresa main road is very busy and loud with all the bikes and ATV's and Fuego Lodge even though was just up a side road, was nice and quiet. It really is a little oasis. I will definitely be back.
