Front desk was friendly but not the most helpful in that no change was available for use of laundry facilities. I was not put off by the homeless encampment out front, they’re doing the best they can and recent headlines say the town is clearing them out. But the room and the facilities are worn from much use. It seems apparent they’re being rented often by the hour which I won’t judge. But burn marks, cracked fixtures, evidence of rough treatment and strangers wandering by asking if I had drugs or paraphernalia was a bit off putting. The standard cheery Motel 6 paint scheme seemed out of place somehow. I know my company was charged a very reasonable rate but I was shocked that the rate sheet posted in the bathroom said the room could go for $199. The room was good for a rest but I could not expect it to rent for $50.

I had stayed at this property 10 years ago. I was traveling through SLC on my trip and made a prior reservation for a non-smoking, handicap room. The nice lady at the front desk checked me no problems. She mentioned that room 103 wasn't ready yet. Wasn't sure why she mentioned that room specifically. She went on to say I can give room 111. I said OK as long as its a non-smoking, handicap room.
Well it was non-smoking but it wasn't an ADA handicapped room. I made the best of it. Also the room had no telephone in it. That's a life/safety issue.

You get what you pay for and if you're looking for decent accommodations with no frills at a reasonable price, you can usually find it at motel 6. This place was no exception. The room was old and had some cracks in it, but the bed was okay, the shower worked, and there was enough channels on the tv to entertain us when we needed it. The internet was horribly slow and kept going out but worked. It's a place we would stay at again if we just needed a place to sleep that was a proven commodity.

The room was marked as a non-smoking room, but I would not be surprised if it was actually a smoking lounge at a busy international airport. The entire room smelled of smoke, including the sheets and towels. I woke up in the morning and my whole body and clothes smelled like I was a 10-year, pack a day smoker. Either they don’t care at all about cleaning, don’t enforce their policies, or their housekeepers clean every room with a lit cigarette in their mouths the whole time. I wouldn’t recommend unless you are looking for a hotel to smoke in. Everything else about the room was to be expected for a cheap hotel, but the smoke was intolerable and unacceptable. I can excuse old flooring, scribbled on walls, and a general run-down atmosphere, but smelling like smoke even after a shower is inexcusable.

We traveled from CA. looking for a place to rest for the night, got on booking.com to find a motel. We chose motel 6 because it was just off I-80. Holy Crap, the first thing we saw was homeless sitting and lying down the streets around the motel, also pimps, prositutes and drug deals, we pulled in at 11:00 PM. It appeared that the people from the streets were checking doors to see if they opened and we were afraid for our lifes. Because we were so tired and felt it was unsafe to drive we decided to stay and my friend told me to keep the car doors locked and he would check us in and be right back. We decided not to open the trunk and bring anything up because it we were sure that someone would see what we had and break into the car. We got up to the room and it was horrible! The beds looked dirty, broken items throughout the room, no toilet paper. I told my friend I to ask for toilet paper and to bring up a comforter so we could sleep on that. While he was downstairs, I saw prositutes and men walking to rooms, I believe this motel is were they work. My friend said they don't have any toilet paper, I got a sudden surge of energy and said we have to get out of here now! We turned in our room keys but not refund was allowed. Salt Lake City downtown was in complete ruins, I don't know who runs this city but you need to be replaced now!

Noise thru the night from the rift raft that hang around the place.
I asked about no morning coffee and management said I kept getting broken, whatever that meant.
Could feel the bed springs.
It was a noisy bad to the bone experience.

They rented my reserved room to another party, turned me away and charged my credit card anyway. End of review. 200 minimum characters are required to submit this, so I should be done writing...there!

Rooms were clean. Staff was pleasant. Would stay here again. Location was good for seeing downtown Salt Lake. Was able to walk to most of the sites around the city. Only thing disappointing is that they don't offer breakfast.

Room is very dirty we didn’t really feel safe in the hotel. There was blood on the counter. The area around the hotel wasn’t bad however, everything was very old and very dusty and hadn’t been cleaned in a long time. We had our German Shepherd with us so that helped with our safety issue. Even the walls were dirty.

I am here as I write this. It's 5.39am and not slept yet due to the noise. Not only that the bed is uncomfortable as are the pillows. Bedding is like paper. As are the walls. You can hear EVERYTHING from the other rooms. Won't be using Mobil 6 again on this trip. Only $54 for the night for 2 of us but some sleep would have been nice

I did not ask about that at the desk but I did try to get direction and was not able to get it to come up on the lap top. So I would ask them what the daily charge is, if you stay here. Just lock your car and hide what is important to you. I lost a camera not locking my car. good luck.
